Dotty Family Moments.

Little Brian's birthday surprise.

"you're crazy, papa" Letty smiled as she re adjusted her overalls that were speckled with paint. "What?" Dom shrugged with a smile of his own. "Kid's gotta have a special first birthday".

"I agree....but are you sure this was the way to go? You realize that you'll never be able to top this one?" She asked. "course I will, he's a Torretto, I know what we are into at all stages of our childhood. My dad always topped every year...besides, I manage to make your birthday better each year, and we're together how long now?"

Letty playfully narrowed her eyes. "You calling me old, Torretto?" Dom approached her. "pretty sure I wouldn't be standing here if you really thought I was". Slowly getting closer, he put a hand on her hips. She jumped into his arms.and wrabbed her legs around his waist.

Just as the two were about to lean in, the baby monitor crackled. "Mama!" was heard coming through. The two sighed a laugh, that kid was perfect at keeping them focused. "Little man's up. I'll go get him, you finish up with this". She pointed at the still wet wooden frame.

"Done". Dom said as Letty jogged off to get their boy. Dom listened through the monitor. "Hey, sweetie. You have a good nap?" He heard Letty say. He heard her lift him up. "Ooph, you're such a big boy....hard to believe you're almost a full year old". Was all Dom heard before she had left the room. After feeling his heart burst, he decided to get back to work on their special surprise for the soon to be birthday boy.

Fast forward to the next day and Little Brian's party is in full swing. The entire family is there to celebrate. Said birthday boy was being showered with gifts from everyone.

He received some of the normal type gifts, such as soft toys and cute (Torretto styled) pyjamas. Mia had managed to source out one of Dom's old onesies from when he was young. It was light blue and had "American muscle" sprawled across the front.

Dom and Letty somehow lost track of who was watching the kid, but that panic was over very quickly when they realized that he was with his cousins.

They all sang happy birthday to the little guy who looked at the small cake in front of him in awe. He was mesmerized by how delicious it looked.

Letty demonstrated how to blow out the candle, but being only one year old, you can imagine how that one went, Little B got the candle out...and half of his mouths content of saliva....but after they took out the single candle, he only got better.

He dug his little hands in and ate a piece. He smiled gleefully as everyone cheered for him. He too clapped his little hands. While Dom went off to get the full sized cake for the adults, Brian looked up at his mother. Letty was talking to Mia. Mia pointed to behind Letty with a big smile. Letty turned to see Brian holding out a smushed piece of cake to her. "Mama, for you!" Brian exclaimed happily.

Letty felt her own heart melt out from her chest. "Thank you Baby. You're such a thoughtful little guy". She said as she took the piece and ate it giving an exaggerated hum of contentment "So good" she said  and gave Brian a kiss on the cheek.

Mia looked at her sister in law. In all the years she'd known her, she had never seen her as happy in all her life. "So when's the next one coming along?" Mia asked with a wry grin. "Mia, his birthday's not even over". Letty laughed as she playfully slapped her sister in law. "Me and Dom got all the time we want before we make that decision. For now, I just went to celebrate this little guy". She said as she gave Brian another hug.

Later when the party was winding down, Dom made an announcement. "Thank you all for coming to little man's birthday. We got one more thing to do before it ends". He said as he picked Brian up. "You wanna see one more present, son?" Brian nodded. "What is it, dada?" He asked curiously. Dom chuckled. "You'll see".

They got outside the door. "Now, we are all here to celebrate this little guy, so, me and Letty decided that it was probably the right time to give him a bigger room, and every room needs  one thing: a comfortable, classy bed". He opened the door with a grin as everyone looked inside to see it.

Little Brian looked at it with wide eyes. What lay before them all was a child sized bed in the shape of Dom's charger, complete with supercharger mounted on the front. "Woooooow" Brian said in awe. Everyone melted at his wholesome reaction. "You like it, son?" Dom asked. "I love it! Thank you Mama and Dada" he said as he hugged Dom then reached to hug Letty.

Both parents smiled as everyone else took a minute to look over the project Infront of them.

"Hot damn, how long did this take y'all to make?" Tej asked as he looked around it. "Two-ish months, gotta say though....I definitely prefer working on actual cars". Dom said exasperated. Letty laughed. "Wood is a bi...." She was about to swear but remembered that Little Brian was still learning new words "big pain to get out of a carpet" she corrected herself quickly as thought back to the many hours thst both she and Dom had spent vacuuming the excess sawdust.

Letty looked to her husband. "I think we can call today a success. Good luck next year, papa". She said wryly as she kissed him, before going over to their son who wanted to give her a special hug for his incredible present.

Dom was left in thought, next year didn't matter right now, the only thing that mattered was the little boy who was currently shaking with the excitement of looking around his cool new bed.
