He had walked the three blocks from the garage. His Mom believed in him and had awoken hidden confidence within him.
During the walk he had some time to think of something to say. These feelings had brought him through the ringers but now he felt like he was back on top.
He thought about his mom's words. She saw a younger version of herself and Dom within the two, and that was what gave him the boost. He was a rare case where he didn't hate his parents PDAs and instead he admired it in a way.
Brian had been smart, before he ran off properly, he had asked her if she was free. Thankfully she said she was. Whatever happened he was proud of himself for going through with this.
He had walked up to her porch and awaited after knocking. Abby opened the door "Hey" she greeted him with a smile that sent tingles all around his body. "hi". Brian greeted with a smile of his own. "What's up?" She asked still seeimg joyful.
"So..." Brian tried to find the words to begin. "Uh, Abby. Recently, I've been thinking. I really enjoy our friendship. It's probably one of my favorite things. But recently... I've.... kinda......sorta, begun to think about maybe if we weren't friends anymore".
Abby looked confused for a brief moment before a look of realization dawned across her face. "Oh....." Was all she said until Brian continued. "I've always known you were pretty, but recently I've begun to find you prettier everyday. When you're around my chest feels tight an.... and I get all nervous. I think you are amazing to be around. You are fun, and you make me very happy, and well, I was....what I'm getting at....well I was wondering if maybe you'd be interested in becoming my girlfriend?".
Abby blushed. She was secretly waiting for him...for this moment for a while. She too felt these feelings but didn't know how to express them. "Umm....wow Brian. That... that was really sweet" she said as she looked down with a flattered smile. "I've actually been waiting for one of us to become confident enough to tell the other". She said.
Brian looked her dead in the eye. "Wait... really?" She said shocked. "Yes, you dummy. I really like you, Brian. You are smart, kind, funny. You make me feel....alive. when no one else can". She said shyly.
"Wow..." Brian blushed hard. "So....what do you wanna do about it" he asked. "Well, I believe I had a question to answer". She said. "My answer is yes. I'd love to become your girlfriend, Brian". She said.
Brian smiled. He beamed. "Wow..." He seemed shocked they it had worked."so... What now?" He asked, curious on where they go now.
"Well I can finally do this". Abby said before she grabbed his hoodie collar and pulled her close to him. She planted a kiss on his lips. Brian seemed shocked for a moment before snapping back to reality and kissed back.
"Wow. That was incredible". He said once they parted. "It really was". Abby agreed. "So wanna hang out tomorrow after school? Maybe call it our first date?" She proposed. "Sounds good. Maybe I'll even get you to meet my folks after....I mean, if that's ok with you. I don't want this to move too quick".
"But I've already met your parents, Brian?". Abby said slightly confused. "You did, but they was before you because my girlfriend". Brian said with a smile still not believing he had successfully done it.
Abby sighed contently. "Say it again". She said. "My girlfriend". Brian repeated. "Sounds good". Abby said. "I'll see you tomorrow in school....babe".
Brian felt his grin get even wider. "Sure thing....babe" he said back. "I'll see you tomorrow".
Just as he was about to leave Abby called him back. "Wait..." She said. He turned and was met with a kiss being planted on his lips. "One for the road". She said as she pulled away. "Goodnight Abby". He said with a little wave. "Goodnight Brian" she replied.
Brian walked the 4 blocks back home with a smile. He entered the House to find his mother in the living room. "Hey, baby.... how'd it go?" She asked as he sat down beside her. "It was...good. really really good". He said. "She asked me out for our first date tomorrow, then she would like to meet you and dad now that she's officially my girlfriend".
Letty beamed with joy for her son. "I'm so happy for you, Bri. Your dad will be thrilled when I tell him. He's just in the shower".
"Can you tell him for me, Mom?" Brian asked. "I've 9 blocks in the space of 4 hours and I definitely
Need to get some shut-eye for tomorrow".
"Of course I will, baby. Goodnight, sleep well". She said as she kissed his cheek. "Goodnight mom. I love you". He said. "I love you more" she replied. "I love you most". He finished as he went up the stairs.
Letty remained seated on the couch. Brian was growing up, but some things never changed. Dom came down and saw his wife. "You alright?" He asked as he sat down.
She clung to him like he was her life source. "Our boy is becoming a man". She sighed."how so?" Dom replied. "He got his first girlfriend". She said. "Atta boy". Dom said. "I'm proud of him". She said. "I'm proud of him and us". Dom said. "We raised him well".
"That we did, papa". She said with a smile as she lesked her head on his shoulder. "That we did".
With that, the first day of a new beginning was about to begin. Brian and Abby were ready to take on the world. Who knows where they'll end up? All they can tell for now is that they're in it together.
The end.
