Chapter 49 (Naaalala ka)

Arkin's POV

Ilang minuto na din akong nakatayo dito. Nakatunganga. Saan ba nagpunta ang Drew na yun? I need to talk to him right now. I need to be away from mama. I just want to catch up with everybody. I still can't get over the fact the my sister is marrying PJ. Kanina pa ako tumatawag kay Drew but he isn't picking up his phone.

Just then I saw someone walking toward my direction, a girl searching her bag but for my surprise she raised her face and I saw her angelic face again. She looked at me too and I saw that she was neither shocked nor disappointed or something. What is she doing here? After a moment, she walked toward me and stopped in front of me.

"Ah, eh, an-andito ka pala." She said.

"Ah, y-yes. I was waiting for Drew. I remembered the address of his condo and I came to... see him." I knew in my head I wanna ask many questions but I kept my mouth shut.

"Ah, condo ni Sheena yang kabila." She said as she gestured her hand.

"Ah, see."

"Ah, sabi ni Wallace may pinuntahan lang daw saglit sina Drew at Sheena. They'll be back soon." Wika niya. I still feel a little bit uncomfortable with this kind of situation.

"O-Okay. Thanks."

"Sige. Mauna na ako." Tugon niya at pumasok na sa kabila.

Napaupo lang ako sa sahig and started dialing Drew's number again. Where is that guy when I need him? Why is his condo near Sheena's? What a stupid question.

Nakaramdam ako ng pagod. Dumating ako sa Pilipinas finding out my sister is pregnant and is getting married hindi lang sa kung kanino kundi sa kapatid ni Thia. Nakaramdam na ako ng sakit ng ulo. I'm so tired today. After a few minutes, narinig kong nagbukas ang pinto sa kabila. She got out of there. I stood up not knowing what to say.

"Ah, k-kung gusto mo. Dito mo nalang sila hintayin sa loob." Wika niya.

I was stunned for a moment. The whole time since I saw her sa restaurant, she has this glint in her eyes that I've never seen before.

"Ah, sigurado ka?" tanong ko though I'm not so sure why I asked that one because I want to. I felt the urge to talk to her. About what? I don't know.

"Yeah. Malamig diyan sa labas. And it's dark. Bakit ayaw mo?" she answered.

"S-sure. Thank you." Tugon ko nalang. She then smiled and led me inside.

Pumasok ako sa loob. It was just a simple unit. It's full of Sheena's photography I think. Lots and lots of pictures.

"Ah, gusto mo ng drinks?" she asked.

"Ah, just water. Thank you."

"Sige, maupo ka muna. Siguro parating na yung dalawa." Wika niya and she went in the kitchen. She looks so stressed but she is still pretty.

I stood up and looked at every picture displayed in the sala. One picture caught my attention. A picture of Thia 10 years ago. I know it's from 10 years ago because I was there when it was taken. It was a picture when we were around the bonfire. We were all happy. She was smiling in the picture. She looked so happy.

"Ah, ito na ang tubig mo." Narinig ko from behind. Mabilis akong nagtungo sa upuan at umupo taking a sip from the water. She also sat down but she was silent. We were like that for how many minutes.

Kinuha niya and remote control sa table and switched the TV on kaya nabasag na ang nakakabinging katahimikan sa pagitan namin. I tried to focus on the TV but I can't help but look at her. She caught me looking at her.
