“Just saying don’t fall for a deadbeat.” My father said, which kinda put a shock look my face. Lyanna laughed as we sat at the food court enjoying our day out, we had dad on speaker.

“He’s not a deadbeat.” I corrected him.

“Was neglect-”

I smack Lyanna arm

“Damnn I joke I joke.” My sister runs her arm with a huff followed right after attitude becoming pouty.

“So what he do? Since you’re not working what job he have to support you?” Dad asked a question with a question.

I feel like I’m being Interrogated

“He ah business man …. You know… Ruslan an accountant.” I like and Lyanna quickly mute us.

“You can not lie for shitttt.” She said in a hush like tone and we shared a giggle.

“The fuck did you say Halston was?” I asked and she Lyanna leaned back in her seat shrugging her shoulders.

“Painter.” She simply said and I squinted my eyes.

“Bullshit.” I whispered and she laughed at me.

“I’m so dead ass, kinda thankful he has an hobby.” Lyanna winked at me and I unmuted us by tapping the button on my phone.

“Sorry dad, my connection was acting up, repeat what you said.” I yawn covering my mouth. Tired even though it’s only 11am.

“I said what made you choose a damn accountant.” He repeated himself his tone sounding somewhat disappointed.

“What’s wrong with an accountant?” I asked as my voice grew high for a moment out of being defensive.

“Nothing.” He said but then awkward silence hit.

“Your daughter dating at painter but there’s nothing wrong with that.” I pointed out Lyanna bullshit of a truth.

“It’s Lyanna if anything I surprised she’s not dating a felon.” He said which made me chuckled seeing my sister face change from sweet to sour glaring at the phone.

“How supportive of you, stay in Kingston.” Lyanna said with an little attitude

"I would but I'm already in America." He stated and it grew silence once more.

"Thought you said next month." I said because Ruslan agreed but I don't know if the little family get away house is set.

"Thought he said two weeks." Lyanna and I share a look.

"Well it's a week and a half so Christmas came early. What's up with the two of you?" He question us.

"Nothing just didn't think it'll be that quick dad damn." My sister chime in and I not my head.
