Chapter Ten Finally adults

I woke up to hear a knock on my door, groaning I sat up as a book sat on my lap. I looked down and saw the book I was reading before I fell asleep. The time read seven thirty on the clock, another knock came from the door and I got up rubbing my eyes walking over opening it to come face to face with the head maid. Old lady Katia smile softly and reach over patting my face. 

“You just woke up deary didn’t you?” She asked and I giggle a little moving aside letting her come in the room as she looks around checking everything. She lay her thumb on the dressers swiping it to make sure it wasn’t dirty. “Spotless, anywho Marya darling It’s seven.” She checks the watch that was on her wrist. “Thirty two, dinner is about to begin and Mr.Nikiforov family arrived not to long ago please be on your best behaviour for some reason I was told that you are a problem.” Ms.Katia said putting her hands behind her back looking at me.

“I am always on my best behaviour, it's him, he starts the childish bickering.” I reply which made her crack another smile. 

“It’s alright I told the man the same thing, been working with his family for years I even help raise the boy. Did he apologized for his actions yet? I suggested three days ago but the man shrugged it off.” She said and I slowly nod my head, if I would have known Katia was the person to set him straight you know how many times I would be snitching. 

“He did and I accepted his apology but he owes me another which I don’t feel like talking about because it’s small.” I said and she nod her head walking out and stop by the door waiting for me. I check myself in the mirror making sure there were no fly aways and drool on my lip. I put some chapstick on and walk out of my room closing the door following Katia. We talked for awhile and how she was glad that I help Victoria out with the planning of the event and how she was not getting enough sleep over it. We enter the kitchen and a lot of maids and butlers where cooking chopping and literally have a couple of bottles out to decide which drink to present.

“My dear you can go in the dinning room where they at we’ll be out.” Katia said and I shook my head no. 

“I don’t mind helping.” I scan the kitchen seeing Victoria and a guard smiling and talking, tilting my head smiling I walk over sneaky tapping the side of her shoulder making her jump. “To who I owe the pleasure, hello I am Marya.” I held my hand out and the guard hesitated but shook it, I looked at Victoria seeing her blush a little covering her face and something in my head click. So this the guy she was telling me about. “As much it’s nice to see yall boo love but I have to take her from you real quick so she can do her job.” I said linking my arms with Victoria and she laugh a little making the guard smile and he nod at me. 

“I have to get back anyway, Nice meeting you and see you later Vee.” He kissed her forehead and left the kitchen. 

“Just love how my fake mom interrupts my conversations.” She said in a sarcastic tone as I drag her over to help cut some carrots. 

“Eh cock blocking is my job.” I tease and she laugh again.

“Your not even supposed to be here if I have to do my job then you have to door yours.” Before picking up the knife she turned me around pushing me towards the dining room I try to lean all my weight on her but for a skinny person Victoria is strong for no reason.

“Wait I don’t wanna go in there yet.” I said and she giggled and stop before saying to bad and push me in the dining room and closing the kitchen door behind me. I quickly gained my balance and looked to see who’s at the table, Makar sat towards the end kicking his feet snacking on a honey bun but looked up spotting me and he quickly tried to hide it, Afanas who was his cousin sat next to him snacking on his honey bun without a care in the world. I shook my head and see Avery who sat across from him with another female next to her, she looks to be on her phone sharing something, while a male next to her lean over to see what she was sharing. Another male sat across from him with shades on with a black button up shirt, his hair was a buzz cut and he wore a leather jacket but you can tell his shirt was black button up shirt which really wasn’t button up. His arms are folded and his head slump knowing that I am assuming he’s sleep. I walk over pulling a seat back sitting next to Makar and the random male. I leaned over whispering to Makar.
