"Wait I thought he was picking him up after school?" I asked. I was in the kitchen putting away groceries I thought I would have today to knock out a couple of meals for the book fair, Nadia said she can help with baking once she gets back making a couple of drop off which is just meeting people to switch the counterfeit money to real money.

"I know but you know how things pop up." Caesar rubs the back of his neck giving me a putty smile. I stare at him then at the car seeing Makar bored look out the window looking at the ground. Bringing my attention back on Caesar I tilt my head.

"No I don't fucking know. What he doing? Is it work related." I asked folding my arms and Caesar put his hand in his pocket.

"Something like that." He said and I raised an eyebrow.

"Is it not work related?" I asked, it better be work related if not then what the fuck is he doing. I step out of the house onto the porch. "Makar!" I raise my voice grabbing my baby's attention, I  motion him to come here. Makar got out the car with his book bag running up the steps giving me a hug. I ruffled his hair seeing his smile but realizing a tooth is missing. I looked at Caesar.

"Why his tooth missing?" I asked.

"We was playing soccer in gym. But I still won." Makar answer making Caesar shut his mouth. I watched my son do his little happy be dance before heading inside the house. I brought my attention back to Caesar.

"Caesar what's actually going on." I asked softing my tone.

"It's nothing but yet it's something. When I try asking about it he said it's nothing important he jus-

"If it wasn't important he could of picked him up from school." I interrupted.

"Is that serious I mean you here." He said and I closed my eyes feeling irritated

"That's not the point, it's him doing shit last minute." I explained and saw him frown.

"I- .. sorry Marya." He apologized for no reason. I looked at him and just shrugged my shoulders.

"Thank you for picking him up. I'm not mad at you by the way I just hate last minute shit." I said and he nod his head.

"Trust me I preferred to stay on schedule." He try to crack a joke and I fake a smile.

"Tell Laura I said hi and call me." I said before we exchanged our goodbyes.

Closing the door locking it I turned back seeing Makar stand in the center of foyer gripping the straps of his book bag looking at me. I didn't like the expression on his face, my baby looks upset.

"What's wrong love?" I asked walking over I place my hand on the back of his packpact lightly pushing him forward as we both walked to the kitchen. Actually glad I'm staying with Nadia and Oleg for a minute knowing when I get Makar he has a place to lay at, even though the both of them think it's unnecessary for me to get my own place. Even Oleg had the audacity to say that this is nothing but a lovers quarrel, I personally feel like I need space the argument and repeating myself is draining and it's not like you can go to a couple counseling because most of our problems have to deal with something illegal which cause us to bicker.
