Summary:

"I'm sorry Enid but I cannot allow you to embarrass my family and by extension yourself by wearing this absolute monstrosity of a dress, it looks as if a small child has coloured it in with bad art supplies and then a unicorn came and threw up all over it, i'm sorry but it's the truth."

Wednesday messes up when being hyper focused on the Addams's family ball, it immediately backfires luckily her parents know a thing or two about love

————————————————————

"I don't understand why this seems to be so challenging for you. You are making this task harder than it has to be"

Wednesday was practically scowling at Enid through her bedroom mirror, the younger girl had a face of thunder and looked about five seconds away from launching her fist into the mirror where her girlfriend stood, Wednesday was dressed from head to toe in all black, a colour most befitting to the occasion in her mind however, her beautifully frustrating girlfriend had decided the most appropriate outfit for her first Addams family ball was a sugary pink ballgown.

Normally Wednesday wouldn't think twice about her girlfriend's choice of attire, after all any occasion that they had to dress up for was, in Wednesday's mind, of little importance, if her girlfriend wanted to look like a human – or rather werewolf candy-cane then who was she to stop her but this ball was important, now she herself didn't see it as important, the only things she saw as important involved various investigations and hopefully blood. However, she knew this was important to her family and as much as she loathed to admit it, if it was important enough to make her parents tear their gazes from each other then it was important enough for Wednesday to care about.

She had compromised on the hair, at first she had suggested that Enid dye it a darker shade or at least strip the hideous pink and blue from the tips but when Enid had looked at her with eyes of betrayal and the harsh comparison to her disgusting excuse for a mother Wednesday had backed off, plus the threat of rushing back to Yoko's room was always fresh in her mind, even if that had been over 2 years ago. The shoes Enid had relented too, she was sporting a pair of black velvet platform heels, giving her an even bigger advantage over Wednesday, something the older girl found incredibly attractive even though without them their height difference was unnoticeable.

However the pink dress had caused argument over argument, at some point even causing thing to hide under their bed though admittedly that was just so he could get out of the way of her various throwing knives, a skill both Enid and Principal Weems had forbidden inside, though Wednesday was never one for following the rules. "Oh yeah i'm the one making it harder than it has to be okay Wednesday, I just don't understand why you are so obsessed with making me look as dull as possible to please your family, they've never cared about whether i've worn colour before, apart from your mother once asking me if I had a terminal illness relating to my hatred of black." Enid's claws had slowly unsheathed themselves and Wednesday could tell her girlfriend was losing patience, unfortunately for her girlfriend though, Wednesday was the most stubborn person alive and that meant that Enid would not be winning this battle.

"Oh it's the truth is it, you know Wednesday when something is this important to you I will always try to make your visions a reality despite how hard it is, it's just a shame you never think to extend the same courtesy towards me, the girl you're supposed to be in love with." There are tears in Enid's eyes and Wednesday herself has this sudden inexplicable need to start crying as well – no, she will not be weak in the face of her girlfriends trivial tears, the ball is what's most important and she knows that eventually Enid will one day thank her for not letting her wear that awful dress.
