Summary:
"If he breaks your heart, I'll nail gun his."
Upon their return to Nevermore Academy, Enid drops a bombshell on Wednesday, who responds to it the usual way. Well, it's usual for Wednesday, at least.

If you had told Wednesday Addams on her first day of attending Nevermore Academy that she would be secretly longing for the day it reopened... she would probably kill you. If she didn't kill you because she perceived your message from the future as mockery, she would kill you because she believed you. She would take your message to heart and immediately devise a plan to ensure that future didn't come to fruition. Said plan would start with her killing you as soon as she thought of it.
But, as the school finally reopened for the new semester, she secretly felt a small hint of satisfaction as she walked through its gates. She was never going to admit it to anyone. Granted, few could have actually suspected this to be the case. It was nearly impossible to read Wednesday Addams. But when you are an Addams, or at least an honorary member of the family, it's not too difficult. Thing knew exactly what Wednesday was feeling. He just didn't bring it up too often because the answer was always the same.
"Don't be absurd".
Thing sat perched on Wednesday's shoulder but he wasn't exactly still. Wednesday kept looking forward but she could feel what Thing was tapping out on her shoulder.
"I feel as if being detached from a brain for so long has decreased your ability to get the point", Wednesday retorted, flatly.
As Thing continued to tap, newer students watched Wednesday with fear, awe, shock, or all at once. Some lingered on the girl talking to a disembodied hand. Others shrugged it off after a few seconds. Wednesday didn't pay them any attention, however. She was still listening to Thing.
"I am not the one who misses Enid", she said in rebuttal. "Need I remind you that the only reason you're here is because you missed her so much."
".-- .... .- - / .- -... --- ..- - / -.-- --- ..- .-. / ... - .- .-.. -.- . .-.", Thing tapped out.
"Yes, I also brought you along because I will require your help in figuring out the identity of the stalker".
"-.-- --- ..- / ..-. --- .-. --. --- - / .- -... --- ..- - / .. -"
"I didn't forget, Thing. I was simply maintaining my focus on proving you wrong."
"--- .-. / .. - .----. ... / -... . -.-. .- ..- ... . / -.-- --- ..- / -- .. ... ... / . -. .. -.."
"I don't miss Enid. You're being preposterous."
Thing decided not to say anything else rather than continue to pry but this choice wasn't out of fear but more out of defeat. He already knew what was eating Wednesday Addams. He just knew that she would never say it out loud. He also knew that Wednesday wouldn't bring herself to throw death threats at him anymore. Enid certainly wouldn't stand for it.
Because, contrast to what she said out loud, Wednesday did care about her roommate. She listened to what she had to say, even when it crossed into inane territory. She respected what she asked of her, such as apologizing to Thing and her focusing on the murders outside of their room. She let Enid hug her after what happened with the Hyde situation and then decided to hug her back and, yeah, Wednesday missed Enid.
Wednesday Addams missed Enid Sinclair.
She was definitely aware of it. She was only in denial whenever Thing or her parents asked her about it. But as soon as she had returned home, she knew that there was a sense of emptiness now that she and Enid wouldn't be sleeping in the same room for a while. And not the good kind of emptiness.
