Summary:
After a mild argument about who takes whose name, Enid and Wednesday decide to make a contest out of their marriage proposals.
Winner gets to decide on their surname.———————————————————-
Morticia sighed happily as she took in the weather through the glass walls of the greenhouse. The wind was whipping up everything in sight, thunder was rolling in the distance and rain promised to start any minute.
"Such a lovely start to the day," she smiled, sweeping back into the house proper.
She truly couldn't ask for a better life. Morticia and Gomez were as passionate about each other as the day they met— if not more so —Pugsley was growing into a horrible young man, Pubert fast on his heels, and her girls–
Morticia smiled again at the mere thought. Despite a somewhat rocky start, Wednesday and her girl of choice, Enid, had become thick as thieves and thrice as deadly. True, the young wolf hadn't officially joined the family yet, but as far as Morticia was concerned she was already an Addams in every way but name.
Her ears pricked as she heard raised voices coming from the front sitting room; two female voices, to be specific.
Ah, the lovebirds and up and at it already this morning, she internally cooed, gliding through the halls. How delightful!
She floated into the room, unsurprised to find the girls squaring off against each other as she'd guessed. The blonde had fully moved into the Addams Manor after the two of them had graduated from Nevermore, both deciding to take a gap year before starting college. Gomez and Morticia had been thrilled; the pair were a joy to watch whenever they had one of their friendly little spats.
Especially when said spats would turn into not-so-minor duels with claws and blades.
Such a cute couple!
Morticia folded her arms and tried to decipher what this morning's quarrel was about.
"Sinclair-Addams," her little rain cloud stated, glaring lightly up at her girlfriend, arms crossed.
"Addams-Sinclair," Enid shot back, hands at her hips. A twinkle in both of their eyes showed just how much they were enjoying themselves.
" Sinclair -Addams."
" Addams -Sinclair!"
"Well, aren't you two energetic this morning," Morticia couldn't help but gush.
"Good morning, Mother," Wednesday drolled, not taking her eyes off of her wolf.
"Morticia– morning –can you settle something for us?" Enid asked, turning her head to give the matriarch a grin.
"Don't drag her into this–"
"I'd be delighted!" Morticia answered, sweeping further into the room to stand beside her favorite girls. "What are you two arguing about today?"
"Which sounds better; Addams-Sinclair–"
"–or Sinclair-Addams," Wednesday finished.
Morticia cocked her head curiously, "In terms of..."
""What our surname would be when we get married,"" the pair answered at once.
"You two are getting married?!" Morticia gasped, her whole being lighting up like a funeral pyre.
"Eventually," Wednesday stated.
"We haven't made it official yet or anything," Enid explained, blushing nonetheless. "The idea of marriage in general came up–"
"–Which naturally progressed to who would take whose name."
