Summary:

Frustrated by her inability to contact Wednesday, Enid decides to stop using her phone for a few days.

Wednesday is not handling Enid not answering her messages very well.

—————————-

Enid realized at the worst possible moment.

It was her first morning back home from school. She awoke and found herself in her old room, the place that had once been her home within her home, the one place in the entire world that had been hers, her little corner of freedom.

She turned to look for a second bed that wasn't there, and immediately realized home was somewhere else now.

The reason why it was the worst possible moment to have the realization was that this was the first day of what would be months until she got to see Wednesday Addams again. Wednesday Addams, who was so technology-averse she used a typewriter. Enid wouldn't even know how to begin to attempt contacting her.

And yet, it was on that very day, not the day before when Wednesday had been close enough to touch, not the next day when she'd be an inch closer to their reunion, but that specific day, when the distance between them was the greatest it had ever been since their meeting, that Enid had to go and realize.

"Fuck." She said, to no one in particular. "Shit."

Her hand went to her phone and immediately searched for her conversation with Yoko.

Yoko: remember that from today until classes start again I'm strictly nocturnal.

Enid: u said so like five times already???

Yoko: you're a morning texter. You're going to text me in the morning. Please don't text me in the morning.

Enid: I said I know!!!

Enid looked at the conversation. She thought about it for about four seconds.

Enid: u need to help me out

Yoko started typing, then stopped, then started again.

Yoko: I assume you need all the blood drained from your body. I assume you understand exsanguination is the only acceptable outcome for what you've just done. I assume you've come to terms with this.

Enid: ur being dramatic.

Yoko: I'm trying to fix my schedule. I haven't slept since I left Nevermore. I literally just got in my coffin.

Enid: tough.

Enid: I might have kinda sorta maybe caught feelings for Wednesday Addams.

Enid felt her breath hitch at seeing her words written. It was almost like a spell, like by letting them out into the world she had both made her heart lighter and heavier at the same time.

Yoko: oof.

Yoko: rip.

Yoko: F.

Enid: ur hilarious.

Yoko: my condolences, my dude.

Enid: this is. Not funny.
