Summary:

The next dance at Nevermore Academy rolls around. The only thing that makes it better than the last was the fact that Wednesday was there with Enid, who was really excited about their first dance as a couple. If only Enid could get a hold on her feelings of protectiveness. It's been getting harder since her wolfing out, and even more so since she started dating Wednesday.

Going to the dance at Nevermore only confirmed something that Wednesday already knew: teenage dance parties sucked. It was bright, so damn loud and everyone was wearing white, again. This was not her idea of a party or fun.

"Are you having fun yet?!" Enid's voice, fulled with entirely too much glee, cut through all the noise in the room. Wednesday turned to look at her girlfriend who, like everyone else was wearing white with the barest shade of pink. If not for her colored ends and nails she would be able to blend into the her surroundings almost perfectly. "Guess not."

"The only reason why I'm still in this den of noise is because you went though all the trouble of asking me to the dance." Wednesday's voice was somehow even more flat then usual, which was almost impossible to achieve.

"Aw, that's so sweet of you Willa!" Enid booped Wednesday on the nose, something that other people would lose their arm over. Not Enid, she had girlfriend privileges as she liked to call them. "I feel the same way about you when we watch horror movies."

Actually another secret reason that Enid watches horror movies with Wednesday even though she's not a fan of them is so she could have an extra excuse for cuddles. She doesn't really need a lot of excuses in the first place but it's like an equal trade. A pretty nice give and take in both their books.

"I can get us drinks. They have spooky red ones that look like blood. Just make sure you don't take the actual blood, that's for the Vamps." Mistakes like that have happened before, and this was Wednesday's second dance, the first one ended rather abruptly and they weren't together back then so Enid didn't have the time to give her all the details.

"My family uses blood as decoration sometimes. It keeps the kids away at Halloween. And any other necessary day of the year." Wednesday's eyes widened just a little at the explanation, she was in a better mood. Great, that's great!

"You really need to take me to visit your family sometime." Enid's dreamy smile soon turned into a flustered, jumped mess as her face grew hot, "I saw them at Parents Day but it would be nice to get to know them better now that we're dating. You don't have to of course, it too soon anyway, I just meant- I'll... go get us our drinks now."

Wednesday watched as Enid disappeared into the dancing crowd, a little nervous pep in her step that wasn't there before. This made Wednesday frown, why was Enid suddenly nervous? She hadn't done anything wrong. Hadn't said anything wrong around her. At least Wednesday didn't think she did.

"Nice dance huh?" Wednesday turned her attention to her side where Xavier stood with a cup in his hand, "Cool dress. Clashing with everyone again, as usual."

"Xavier. The party is boring. And the dress was a gift. Kind of." She turned her eyes forward, scanning the dancing group of students for any sign of her girlfriend. "You've been here longer than I have. Tell me, are werewolfs not fond of blood?"

"Huh? Uh... I don't know? Why are you asking?" Xavier was confused and yet this is not the weirdest question he's gotten from Wednesday.

"Enid was talking about going to see my parents sometime and while in the midst of the conversation I mentioned we use blood to scare of wandering children. After that she made a horrible excuse of getting us drinks. I can only conclude that she doesn't like blood. Which is a shame if true." Wednesday was being completely serious about this. Her arms crossed over her chest, her eyes slightly nervous about the prospect of having to break up.
