"When I'm away from you, I'm happier than ever.

Wish I could explain it better

Wish it wasn't true."

- Excerpt from Happier Than Ever by Billie Eillish

Everyone gets settled into a chair and I introduce Hannah, Zion, and Cassidy to Scott and Luke and vice versa. As well as introduce Chloe as my sister.

"I fucking love your little bump," she says, "Your dress is absolutely gorgeous."

I blush at her compliment. I'm wearing an off-the-shoulder maxi dress with a ruffle trim and it's a blush pink color. It compliments me wonderfully.

Chloe insists we dress up just a little for the baby shower.

Chloe is so helpful during my pregnancy. Especially for this party. She curled my hair and did my make-up which I haven't done in a long time.

Any pregnancy symptom, good or bad, she helps me through it and makes an appearance at every doctor's appointment and ultrasound.

"You look sexy as a mom," Anna compliments again and I playfully shove her.

Luke and Cassidy were hanging out in the nursery. They are near each other's age after all so they quickly become buddies.

"How did you and Zion make up?" I ask because even though she asked for him to go. I'm still confused as to why she took him back and invited him to come.

"He proved his worth and forgiveness especially when he quit his job and did... couple other things," she explains, "So I don't mind going back to being friends with him."

I glance at Zion who has his jaw clenched at Anna's words. He's obviously hurt by the statement wanting to go back to being more to Anna but he can't.

"So Scott, how are you doing in Ireland?" I ask.

Sometimes I called him back when I was in California but when I moved, things changed so we definitely should exchange our new numbers.

"It's really good," he says, "I was hired, again, as a personal assistant and this man is ten times nicer than, you know who."

I smile, I'm glad he's doing well. I'm also glad that he doesn't name-drop the man that caused both of us insurmountable amounts of trauma.

"I also met a girl..." he mumbles and I smile, teasingly.

"A girl?"

"Yeah... she was working today so she couldn't come but yeah."

"Who is she?" I ask. I really want to know because Scott meeting a girl will be very nice in the long run.

"So, her name is Alice and she works at the front-desk. I really like her and my boss noticed that so he helped me and we started dating nearly a month ago."

I smile.

"I'm really happy with her and she's nice to Luke too," he finishes, tapping his finger on the ceramic mug.

After we finish catching up with one another, we turn on a movie called "Baby Boom". It came out rather recently and it's a comedy about a single working mother.

It's going to be my reality eventually.

Now, it's time for the gender reveal. I'm so excited to see what's cooking in my stomach.
