Chapter 8: Muzan Kibutsuji

A/N: Hello to the small number of you who are reading this story. Just wanted to let you know of a change that I've made.

I've seen many other demon slayer books do this, and I kinda wanted to try it too. Zenitsu will be a girl in this story instead of a boy. I know it might not sit right with some of you, but I wanted to try it out. It's a change that I have been pondering and have been reluctant to make.

If it doesn't work out, I'll change it back to what it was. I have adjusted some small bits in chapter 5 just so this'll work.

I hope those of you reading this story like it so far and continue to like it!

Nezuko charged at the demons with no other thoughts other than to destroy them. She slammed her foot into the ground to try and catch one of them, but missed as it sunk into the ground again.

"Damnit, even Nezuko isn't fast enough to catch them!" You exclaimed as you swung at another, but again it dodged and sunk back into the ground again.

"Y/N! Stay here and help Nezuko!" Tanjiro suddenly called out to you.

"Where are you going?!" You saw him on the edge of a massive sludge puddle and was worried about what he might do next.

"I'm going down there. It's the best way I think. I have to be down there to kill them!" He looked back at you.

You slowly nodded. "If you say so, then I trust you. Go on Tanjiro." You were nervous of course, but you knew he could handle himself.

Tanjiro nodded before taking a deep breath and plunging into the sludge. You could feel the air around you change as you dodged out of the way of an attack from the demon that was still above ground.

After you had dodged, Nezuko came flying in and kicked it away again. Now side by side, you pat her on the shoulder and gripped your sword.

"Alright Nezuko. We've got this okay? We've just gotta buy Tanjiro some time! You ready?" She nodded and grunted in response, but didn't need a second invitation to get into the action again.

Leaping at the demon, she slammed her foot into the ground multiple times in an attempt to crush it. Each time she got close, but still didn't manage to cause any damage to the demon.

"Look out Nezuko!!" You yelled as the demon leapt above ground and swung a punch at her. She managed to dodge and the two of them got into a punching battle.

You rushed over to join in, swinging your sword whenever Nezuko backed off. But the demon was quick and your movements were sloppy.

"RAAHHHH!! DIE!!!!!" It screamed as it swung at you, but it was stopped right in its tracks when Nezuko drove her fist right into its stomach.

Blood came shooting out of his mouth as he recoiled.

"Th-Thanks Nezuko....I-I am really sloppy right now....you saved my life...." You glanced at each other, exchanging nods before re-engaging in battle.

It was more of a battle between Nezuko and the demon now. Both of them were cancelling each other our, until it swiped at her and managed to inflict a wound on her forehead.

The other fist closed in towards her face, but this time you finally managed to get it right and you sliced right through its arm causing it to scream in pain.

"Keep your hands away from her!" You growl and swing again, cutting off its other arm before kicking him into a wall.

He was breathing heavily as you took a moment to turn to Nezuko. "There, already paid you back for saving me! We're even now!"
