Chapter 61: The Bright Red Sword

When your eyes opened again, you could see the environment around you moving really quickly. It took you a moment to realise that you were being carried away by someone.

"HEY GET BACK HERE YOU BRATS!!! I WAS GONNA TEAR DOWN THIS WHOLE PLACE ANYWAY, BUT IT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER IF YOU WERE STILL INSIDE!!!!" Karaku yelled as he waved his leaf which caused a huge gust of wind and energy to cripple the walls of the house.

Thankfully, you had turned a corner before that happened and were running down another hallway.

"N-Nezuko? Is it you?" You asked as you were still trying to wake yourself up fully.

"Hmm! Hmm!!" She replied as you felt her arms tighten more around you as she shifted your body around to get a better hold of you.

All of a sudden, you were both hit by an even stronger gust of wind which threw Nezuko off balance. She lost her grip on as you flew through the air, not really registering what was going on.

"ITS OVER FOR YOU TWO!!!!" Karaku screamed and followed up with another powerful gust which smashed through the wall causing you and Nezuko to fly outside.

The demon girl reached out desperately to try and get a hold of you and managed to before you were both thrown out even further.

You tumbled onto the ground and could hear all of the debris falling around you. For a few moments, you remained motionless before you blinked and shook your head.

"Get....up...." You gritted your teeth and slammed your hands onto the ground as you pushed yourself up.

Once on your feet, you looked around and found your sword conveniently laying on the ground a short distance from where you were. You limped over and picked it up, before turning your attention to the rubble.

"N-Nezuko!" You said as you found her buried under a heavy wooden beam. She was trying her best to force her way out, but it wasn't working.

"I-I'll get you out of there. Just give me a minute." You said before ducking down when you heard the demons walking and talking to each other close by.

"Focus yourself Y/N....ignore the pain...." You muttered to yourself as you looked back down at Nezuko.

Her eyes suddenly widened as she looked behind you. But not in alarm, more like relief. You quickly turned around to see a battered and bleeding Tanjiro stood there holding his sword.

"Oh thank god....you're both alive!" Tanjiro exclaimed as he quickly hugged you.

You took the time to hug him back.

"Good to see you....I was fearing the worst when I got back to Nezuko and Genya." You said.

Tanjiro nodded and walked over to help his sister, but to his surprise she grabbed onto his blade and held onto it as hard as she could.

So much so, she began to bleed all over the blade which really concerned her older brother.

"N-Nezuko let go of my sword! You're hurting yourself!" He said as he tried to take his blade away, but Nezuko held firm.

Until she suddenly set her blood alight, the blade fully engulfed in her pink flames.

"W-what is she doing?" You ask as you moved closer to her a better look.

"She's using her fire....to heat up the blade. It's turning from black to red!" Tanjiro exclaimed.

You could just about see the blade changing colour as the pink flame kept on burning even after Nezuko let go of the sword.
