Chapter 7: A Demon Accompanying Swordsmen

"Have you both finished changing yet?" Urokodaki called out to you both, just as you finished adjusting your cloak pin and checked yourself to see if the uniform was on correctly.

"Yep! We are!" Both you and Tanjiro said and turned around at the same time. Urokodaki took a good look before nodding and giving a grunt of approval.

"Now that you both are demon slayer swordsman, there are a few things I would like to explain to you." He said and gestured for you both to sit on the floor in front of him.

Of course you both obliged.

"Okay, so what is it that you wanna tell us?" You ask as you sat yourself down on the ground.

"That uniform you are both wearing, it is made from a special kind of fibre. It's lightweight, waterproof and not flammable. Also, a weaker demons claws or fangs cannot penetrate through." He explained causing you to gasp slightly and run your hand down your uniform.

"Wow....that's really strong!" You remarked, smiling.

"Impressive, hm?" Urokodaki replied causing you to nod. "Next is those Nichirn swords of yours. They are also called 'colour changing katanas' because the blade changes colour depending on its owner. Each colour has its own characteristics." He went on to explain what yours being blue meant. It quite literally symbolised water, which is what you had been getting taught by Urokodaki all this time.

However, he said there wasn't much known about black blades. Other than that they were very rare and usually meant the swordsman would not go very far.

Hearing that made you sweat a little, but it didn't dampen Tanjiro's spirit. "Oh well, I don't care if I'm not destined for greatness! Because not matter what, I will turn Nezuko back!"

That made you smile.

"Yes you will." Urokodaki stated. "I have absolutely no doubt that you will achieve this."

"Thanks!" Tanjiro cheered, his usual bright smile spreading across his face.

"One last thing....." Urokodaki picked up a small box that had been sat next to him and pushed it towards Tanjiro. "Here. A box so that you can carry your sister during the day. It is built from a very light wood called Kirikumo cedar. It has also been coated in a rock lacquer, to reinforce its exterior and make it more durable."

"Thanks so much!" Tanjiro reached for the box and stood up, taking it over to the slightly opened door. You had noticed that Nezuko had been listening and watching you all for a little while.

"Hey Nezuko! Can you get into this box for me? Pretty please?" Tanjiro smiled as he waited for his sister. It took a few moments, but eventually Nezuko shrank herself and slithered into the box.

You took a peek over Tanjiro's shoulder to see how she fit in. "Oh she shrank herself into such a small size.....she looks so cute!" You chuckled as you made you way closer. "She gonna be comfortable in there?"

"I think so! At least this way, none of us will ever be separated again!" Tanjiro cheered as he closed the door and picked up the box. "Oh wow! It's still really light! Even with her inside of it!"

"That is good. Then you will not get tired when you are journeying." Said Urokodaki as you stood up from the ground and made your way to the front door.

"I assume we are ready to roll then?" You turned and said to Tanjiro as he nodded and joined you.

"Hold on a second." You both turned around quickly to see what Urokodaki wanted.

He walked up to you both and buttoned up Tanjiro's collar and made sure that the box was secure on his shoulders. After giving him a satisfied nod, he turned to you.
