"It's so nice of Miss Hinatsuru to give us so many onigiri with us on our journey!" You said, a cloth bag filled with onigiri wrapped around your torso.
"Though she may have gone a little overboard with it. We're not travelling too far. Still though, I shouldn't complain, eh?" You said, turning to Kanao.
She just hummed in response, happily listening to you talk as you walked. Seeing her so at peace around you made you feel warm inside.
"Wonder what Tokito has in store for us. At the moment, I feel like I could take on whatever is thrown at us! Don't you feel the same?" You asked.
"I do. I feel like Mister Uzui's training was a little too easy. He did not test us enough." Kanao answered honestly.
"Perhaps, but there's only so much he can do with the injuries he sustained. Gotta cut him a little slack." You said.
"Hmm. Whatever you say." Kanao replied, making it clear that she still didn't think very highly of him.
"And that faith is not going to be easy to build back. You certainly don't want to make enemies out of any of the butterfly girls. They may seem kind, but they can be cold if you upset them." You thought as a small paper airplane landed at your feet.
Curious, you picked it up and looked around to see if there was any sign of someone who might've thrown it.
"Huh...that's odd. Where did this come from?" You asked.
"Mister Tokito's residence is just up this path. It more than likely came from there." Kanao said, pointing up the path.
Indeed, the gates that led into the compound of Tokito's mansion was just up ahead.
"More than likely. Must've been a real expert since the airplane travelled quite the distance!" You said, taking a closer look at it as you walked up the path.
When you walked through the main gates, another paper airplane flew past your head and landed on the ground. Looking up, you could see a large group of slayers sat around outside, folding pieces of origami paper into paper planes.
"Hold on...this isn't...Tokito's training...right?" You asked, sweat dropping as you chuckled and rubbed the back of your head.
"Can't be...he's a hashira after all. I can see Tanjiro's influence all over this. Come on, Kanao." You said, leading the girl further into the compound.
You walked up to the front door, sliding it open and stepping inside. The building opened up into a large open space, big enough to accommodate several people at once, while having enough space for people to spar.
Tokito was there, sparring with one of the demon slayers; who was having a really hard time keeping up with the young hashira. You watched on as long as the duel took, until Tokito delivered a swift hit to the slayers stomach, sending him to the floor.
"Hm...you're definitely improving. But there is still a long way to go." Tokito said.
He then caught sight of you and Kanao through the corner of his eye. Turning to look at you, he smiled widely, genuinely happy to see you.
"Y/N! Welcome! It's been a while!" He said.
"Hey Tokito! It has been quite a while since everything happened at the swordsmith village! Have your wounds managed to heal?" You asked.
"Yeah! They have! I feel as right as rain!" He replied.
There was something a lot different about the youngest hashira today. In fact, there had been something different about him ever since the battle at the village. He seemed so much more approachable and friendly than he was before.
