Chapter 50: The New Inhabitants

The kakushi arrived at the butterfly mansion a day or two later. It had been quite the trek having to bring back four injured demon slayers, and four demons.

Regardless though, the carts rolled up to the front gate and the four of you were carried quickly in so you could all be treated.

However, the kakushi waited until night fell before bringing the demons in. The sun had been shining brightly and there was not a cloud in the sky during the day.

Waiting for it to be night was easier to do than trying to keep them all covered during the day.

Upon stepping inside, the four demons were met by the Kocho sister. Both with their arms crossed and judging looks on their faces.

"Aria. Mukago. You two may go to your room now. These two will join you once we have had a talk with them." Shinobu said, her smile plastered on her face as usual.

It was a smile that did scare Aria and Mukago a lot, because they knew that it hid her true emotions. With that all being taken into account, they both just nodded and quickly shuffled off to the sun blocked room.

That left Daki and Gyutaro with the two hashira.

"Now then....I thought having demons here was dangerous enough. But adding two more, plus them being upper ranks....this is extremely dangerous." Kanae said.

"We won't harm anyone here....I promised Y/N that me and my brother would fight alongside him." Daki said as Gyutaro nodded.

"I....sorta guessed that Y/N was the one who managed to get you both to....switch sides." Shinobu said while approaching Daki.

"But tell me.....why exactly do you trust him?" She tilted her head.

"Well he promised that he would help turn me and my brother back into humans...." Daki replied.

"And because my sister seems to have taken a liking to him...." Gyutaro said as he scratched the back of his neck.

"Quite a liking, huh? How much of a liking?" Shinobu stared at Daki who scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"What's it to you short-stack?" She responded.

A vein popped out of Shinobu's forehead as she clenched her fists.

"You little-!" She was stopped by her sister gently resting a hand on her shoulder.

"Now now....we're all trying to get along here. We can't having anyone getting hurt or killed." Kanae said as Daki laughed and rubbed her arm.

"Yeah....don't worry I wouldn't have hurt anyone anyway. I don't wanna break my promise to him...." She said, a little bit of colour entering her cheeks.

"I see. Well as long as you stick to that and no one is harmed, then I'm sure we'll all get along fine!" Kanae smiled and gestured for the demon siblings to head off to the sun blocked room.

Gyutaro walked off down the hall as Daki followed on behind. She was stopped when she felt Shinobu gently tug on her hand.

"You better keep that promise....don't you dare harm him or anyone else...." She said, narrowing her eyes a little.

"Don't worry short-stack, I wouldn't dream of harming something so perfect~...." She smirked and turned her head, walking off behind her brother.

"Nee-san? Are we....really making the right choice by having them here?" Shinobu asked once the Kocho sisters were alone.

"If they were going to kill us, they would've done so when they first got the chance. For now, we have to worried about the injured." She grabbed her sisters hand and led her through the halls into one of the single rooms.
