Chapter 22: Meet The Hashira

"FIGHT ME!!!!!" Inosuke roared as he charged at you from across the yard. Your rehabilitation training had practically come to an end, as your wounds has healed.

You could move around a lot more freely now and your reactions were back to their heights. Which meant you were quick enough to react and move out of the way of the charging Inosuke.

It was evident that he had recovered, now that he was running around and demanding that you fight him again.

"Can't you just chill out and enjoy the peacefulness of this place? Come on Inosuke. Sit down with me." You sat down on the wooden boards and pat the space next to you.

Inosuke just stared at you, not saying any words. You smiled widely at him, making him feel warm and fuzzy on the inside before he shook his head and growled loudly.

"HEY!!! STOP DOING THAT AND FIGHT ME ALREADY!!!!" He yelled and puffed air out of his nose.

He was only stopped by Tanjiro coming outside and holding him back. "Come on Inosuke! Do you really have to fight all the time?"

It took a little while, but the crazy boar child did eventually calm down and headed back inside. "He really is quite a handful...." You said as Tanjiro joined you.

"Yeah, he can be." The boy chuckled. "By the way, the three butterfly girls came to me asking if I use total concentration breathing all the time. Like even when I'm not in battle."

"All the time?" You asked.

"Mhm. They say that all the hashira use total concentration breathing all of the time. Even when they are asleep!" Tanjiro explained, making you sweat drop.

"O-oh wow....uhm....okay." You wiped the sweat off your forehead.

"They said they were gonna help me with it. I agreed to it and they asked if you wanted to do it too." He said, looking at you with a hopeful look in his eyes. "Besides, you're Miss Kanae's tsuguko now right? She might ask you to do it."

"Y-yeah I am. It sounds difficult, but you're right. She will probably train me to use it." You nodded your head as you spoke. "Let's give it our best shot then, eh?"

Tanjiro's smile widened as he nodded his head and hugged you. "Of course! We always give everything our best shot!"

You hugged him back, just as you heard soft footsteps come around the corner.

"Yoohoo! Sorry to interrupt!" The voice of the insect hashira filled the air as you turned to face her.

"Hello Miss Shinobu! Is there anything we can do for you?" You asked as she smiled brightly and nodded her head.

"Why yes! The other hashira wish to meet you Y/N! They want to hear your side of the story!"  She explained.

You did remember Tanjiro mentioning that to you when you both were reunited. Though, you hadn't thought about it much since then.

"O-okay sure! Are we going soon?" You asked.

"Mhm! Myself and my sister shall accompany you! Of course, us being hashiras we shall be there too!" Her smile widened as she clasped her hands together. "I will tell nee-san that you are getting ready to depart. Just give us a shout when you're ready!"

And with that, she left you and Tanjiro alone again.

"Damn....you know I completely forgot that you mentioned that to me." You rubbed the back of your head as you spoke to Tanjiro.

"Yeah....and Murata seemed to be really shaken up after his meeting with the hashira. But hey, you'll be alright! I know you will! You've always been really calm with other people!" Tanjiro gave you one of his signature smiles to reassure you.
