Chapter 34: Defeating A Lower Moon

You smirked upon hearing Enmu's words. Something inside of you was finally starting to ignite as you gripped your sword and held it out in front of you and pointed it at him.

"Try and keep up. I would hate for you to be left behind!" Your smirk grew as you leapt towards him and swung your sword.

"Total concentration....water breathing second form: Water Wheel!!"

Your attack was quick and cut Enmu in half. The two halves of his body hitting the ground, already beginning to regenerate.

"Ooohhh~ what fun! You really are very fast! And that swing was very impressive!~ Looks like I will have a lot of fun!~" He cackled as his body regenerated and he stood up.

He held the back of his hand up facing towards you as you ran up to slash him again. An eye was implanted in the centre of it, with an engraving that read 'Sleep' inside of it.

"No!!! Y/N look out!! He's trying to put you to sleep!!" Mukago desperately called out to you, but it was too late.

"Sleep~...." Enmu said as the eye blinked and you found yourself very quickly becoming fatigued and fell to the ground unconscious.

"As the dream did not work....let's see how you get on in your worst nightmare~...." Enmu cackled loudly and was about to kick your body off the train, but was stopped when a sharp kick was dealt to his head.

Standing over you was Mukago, veins popping out of her face, her fists clenched tightly and her teeth gritting together.

"Oh my~....what's this? Have you actually managed to grow a spine Mukago? This should be interesting~...." He giggled as Mukago stepped closer to him.

"I will not let you harm him! Or anyone else!" She yelled before lunging at him swinging her fists are her legs, trying to hit him.

She landed a few blows, but took a few in return as Enmu demonstrated his new found strength courtesy of Muzan's donation of blood.

"We'll see if you can live up to your words~...."

The tears were steaming down your face as you slumped to your knees. "I-I couldn't do anything! I-I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough!"

"What kind of excuse is that?! You should've been there when I needed you! When that....thing came into our home and murdered me!! What kind of son are you that you cannot protect your own mother?!" Your mothers voice was laced with an unrecognisable anger as she spat at you.

"B-But mother....I-I couldn't do anything....i-it's not my fault-." You were interrupted by a harsh slap to your cheek which made you recoil in pain.

"SHUT UP!! YOU COULD'VE DONE SOMETHING IF YOU TRIED!!" She yelled.

You were lost for words, not being able to believe you mother was acting this way. She was never like this.

She never got this angry at you.

"N-No....this isn't you...." You stuttered as she raised an eyebrow, her face still full of anger. "Y-you never got this angry....y-you would never blame me for this...."

You clenched your fists and wiped the tears from your face and looked up at her. "My mother was the kindest soul on this planet! I'm going to kill this demon for putting such anger and hatred inside of you...."

Standing up from the floor, you stormed out of the room as your 'mother' yelled and hurled insults at you as you went.

But you ignored her. You knew that it wasn't really her and that this whole nightmare was being forced into your mind by that demon.
