Chapter 43: Tonight Is The Night

You quickly weaved your way through the streets of the district, trying to find Uzui. Luckily, it was still day time so not only were the streets so empty, the demon would not be out and about for a few hours yet.

"We have to be prepared by then. Tonight has to be the night, we can't let this drag on anymore!" You thought to yourself as you made your way back to the hotel.

Entering the room you left the demons in, you found them both sat waiting patiently for you to return.

Their faces lighting up when they saw you.

"Y/N! Finally! We were getting worried!" Aria beamed as she stood up and hugged you.

You hugged her back and gently pat her head.

"I'm fine. Has Uzui been here?" You asked.

"Yeah he was here a little while ago! He told us that you would be back for us soon and that we would be leaving." She said.

"Okay....well we aren't going to be leaving by the way. I need to find him and tell him that I've found the demon." Both girls eyes widened a little after you said that.

"You found them? Where are they?" Aria asked.

"It's one of the oirans of the house that Zenitsa was sold to. Something about her just...felt off." You shuddered a little just remembering how intimidating it felt being near her.

You shook your head to rid yourself of the feeling and let go of Aria.

"I'm going to find Uzui. When night falls, you two should probably leave and find somewhere outside the district to hide." You said, both of the demons immediately shaking their heads in response.

"I-I can't risk you both being here! This demon....could be an upper rank. I can't protect you both while fighting one." You really wanted them both out of the fighting, but the two demons would not let up.

They both promised that they would fight alongside you no matter the foe.

"We can't hide away forever Y/N! We need to stand up and fight! Just like you are doing!" Aria stated confidently as Mukago nodded her head from behind her.

You sighed and slowly nodded your head. "F-Fine....I did bring you both along to help and all....I'm just scared that this'll be an upper moon."

You clenched your fists tightly and raised your head to make eye contact with both of them.

"But we won't let that get to us! We can take them on! I know we can!" You eyes became more determined as you turned around and walked to the door.

"When it gets dark, start making your way to us. I'm sure you'll know where to look. We'll make enough noise." A small smirk formed on your face as you left the room and continued your search for Uzui.

Your search eventually took to the roofs as you thought it would be easier to spot him if you had high ground.

Though it turned out, he was perched on a roof anyway and was observing the ground below him.

"I thought I told you all to leave." He said before turning to face you.

"I'm not leaving now. None of us are. You needed our help Mister Uzui, and we aren't turning our backs on you." You said as you stepped over to him and sat yourself down on the roof next to him.

Uzui watched you and smiled. "Alright, seems like I can't get rid of you. You obviously came to find me because you wanted to say something. What you got?"

".....I think I found our demon." You began. "She's the oiran of the kyogoku house. I went there to try and investigate when you said Zenitsa went missing. No one knows what happened to her."
