Chapter 60: The Beginning of The Attack

"Hm? Is someone else here?" Tanjiro suddenly piped up after a period of silence when everyone was deep in thought.

"It's seems like it." Tokito said as he turned his head around to face the door.

As he did so, the door slid open and a shaky arm slowly reached its way into the room. It looked quite malnourished and had long, sharp nails.

"Something is wrong....the air in the place has suddenly shifted. Is this a demon?" You thought as you put your hand on the hilt of your sword.

Tokito was far ahead of you and was already grabbing his sword and pulling it out of his sheath while turning himself around to strike.

However he wasn't quite fast enough to slash the demon, who jumped from the floor onto the ceiling. By now, you had drawn your sword as well and readied yourself to join in.

"This is quite an enclosed space. Need to be careful to not accidentally injure anyone else in the room." You thought as you took a deep breath and leapt off the floor towards the demon who was still latched onto the ceiling.

"Water breathing....seventh form: Drop ripple thrust!"

You used your momentum to thrust your swords forwards to just try and land a blow on the demon so you could force it back onto the ground.

But the demon was really fast and managed to jump away before you got close, causing you to stab your sword into the ceiling leaving a hole in it.

"Damnit! This demons is so fast! It must be an upper rank!" You thought.

"I know we can fight him though! I've managed to stand up to upper moons before! Even though we hit lucky against Gyutaro and Daki, we've gotta step up and prove that we are strong!"

Your determination surged as you watched Tokito swing his sword towards the demons neck. He managed to be too fast for the demon this time, and severed his head.

The demon let out a pained cry as his head flew through the air.

"Wait....he's beheaded him already?! Surely it isn't that easy!" Just as you thought that, the severed head grew a new body whilst the rest of its body grew a new head.

"Shit!! This is getting out of hand!! Now there are two of them!" You thought.

Tokito tried going for one of them, but he waved a leaf that he was holding in his hands downwards towards the ground.

For a moment nothing happened, but then all of a sudden there was a huge blast of wind and green energy that knocked everyone off balance.

The wall broke and left you scrambling for something to cling onto. Unfortunately for Tokito, he was sent flying way off into the distance.

"TOKITO!!!!" Tanjiro yelled as Nezuko held onto him with all her strength, using her other hand to hold onto a broken part of the wall.

You meanwhile had to find something else to hold onto, which wasn't easy. And it wasn't stable either.

It wasn't long before you lost your grip and was sent flying as well.

"Y/N!!!!!" You heard Tanjiro yell, with Nezuko expressing her distress as well as they disappeared from view.

You hit the tree line and rolled across the ground before eventually coming to a stop.

"Fuck....ouch...." You hissed in pain as you pulled yourself back to your feet.

Your shoulder and leg still hadn't fully recovered yet, and now you risked making them worse having to fight against an upper moon.

Not only that, an upper moon that could split itself into four rather than just two.
