You stood above the pile of ashes that served as the remains of the upper moon that Tanjiro had slain.
"Enjoy your time in hell...awful villain." You mocked as you spat at the dust and walked away towards the group of swordsmiths.
"Are you all okay? The demon didn't hurt any of you did he?" You asked as they all shook their heads.
"Thanks to your efforts, the entire village must be safe now!!" One of them said as they all bowed.
"You really owe it to Tanjiro. He was the one who managed to behead the demon in the end." You said.
"Yes he did, but you must've also fought so bravely! You have a lot of wounds and look absolutely exhausted!" Another smith said as you nodded your head.
"I am shattered...luckily my injuries this time weren't as bad as last time. But at least I can rest easy now knowing that there is one less upper moon in the world!" You said with a smile as you knees bucked and you fell.
Though the swordsmiths managed to catch you before you hit the ground, something you were very grateful for.
"Thanks...it's that leg again. Didn't fully recover from the last fight..." You said while wincing.
Looking over at Tanjiro, he was still clinging onto his sister as tightly as he could. Never wanted to let go as Nezuko kept a hold of him with the most innocent and happy smile on her face. Her gaze shifted around the area as she took in her surroundings.
When she got to you, she frowned a little and slowly made her way over while still holding onto her brother. Once in front of you, she reached out with one of her hands and gently rubbed your head.
"H-Heh...thank goodness you're okay Nezuko...f-for a few moments there I thought...we were going to lose you." You said as the demon girl kept on rubbing your head.
It was silent for a few moments until Nezuko began to try and speak again.
"Th-thank...goodness...y-yes...thank...goodness." She said as she smiled widely again.
You smiled back at her and laughed a little, out of joy and relief.
"A-And you're talking again! We might need to teach you to speak again properly...but I wouldn't mind doing that at all! It would be my pleasure!" You said.
Nezuko moved her hand down and gently cupped your face. Her smile widening as she ran her slightly sharp nails across your cheek, gently enough so that she didn't do any damage.
"...Y-Y/N..." She said.
"Y-yes! That's right! Heh...I should've expected that you didn't forget everything! You have recognised me for the last two years after all!" You chuckled slightly.
Nezuko then removed her hand from your cheek and returned her focus to her brother, who had passed out from fatigue. She gently picked him up and carried him on her back, while you were helped by the swordsmiths.
All of you started to head back to what remained of the village, mainly so that all of your wounds could be treated too. Along the way, you met up with the mist hashira and reunited with Genya.
Accompanying them both, was young Kotetsu who you were glad to see. In all the chaos, you hadn't been able to spare a moment to think about his whereabouts. You were just glad that he was okay.
"Are you alright Y/N?" Muichiro asked as you nodded your head.
"I am fine. Thanks for your concern. Are you okay? You seem badly hurt as well..." You said.
"It's no bother. I will be fine. The main thing is that we got our job done." He said before walking over to Tanjiro who was just waking up.
"Oh...Tokito. Hey...I'm glad that you are okay. Thank you...for the sword." Was the first thing that Tanjiro said when he saw Muichiro's face hovering above his.
