Chapter 70: Off To The Hashira Training

At last, you had recovered up to a point where you could be deemed fit enough to return to training. You weren't quite ready for active duty hunting demons just yet, however there wasn't much need for that anyway.

"So you're saying that the number of demons has gone down recently?" You asked Shinobu as the two of you sat on the wooden steps outside of her room, enjoying the feel of the warm sun.

"Mhm! Me and Nee-San have hardly seen any around! It is quite peculiar. Perhaps they are planning something..." She said, a thoughtful expression forming on her face.

"But anyway, it is good timing since the Master wants us Hashira to train up the entire corps to a better standard. The fact that there have been so many upper moon encounters is the reason why." Shinobu said, looking at you with a smile on her face.

"I know you are already a very strong and powerful slayer, but you would benefit from learning under the other Hashira." She said, gently running her fingers down your arm.

"Yeah I could do with the extra training. I can't rely on being with Tanjiro all the time. I need to be able to hold my own in case we run into anymore upper moons." You said.

"Indeed. We shall put you back in Rehabilitation training once again so your body is in better shape before we send you off to the first Hashira." Shinobu said.

"Who is the first Hashira by the way?" You asked.

"Though it might be surprising, it is Uzui! Despite being retired now, he still wishes to help the corps in whatever way he can." Shinobu replied.

"Mister Uzui?! Well, it's good to know that he's doing well enough to train other slayers. It'll be good to see him again!" You said.

"I'm sure he'd be happy to see you! He'd better be after putting your life in danger the way he did..." Shinobu said, a vein popping in her forehead as she tensed up.

"Hey...you really shouldn't hold what happened at the entertainment district against him. I decided to go with him and help. I put myself in that position." You said.

"Maybe so...but his childish and immature actions put all of you in danger. Trying to kidnap Aoi and Naho..." She said, trailing off into annoyed grumbles.

"Better that we went and put our lives in danger, rather than Aoi and Naho. They would never have stood a chance. That was very reckless of him." You said.

"Don't worry. Me and Nee-San made sure that he would never forget that." Shinobu said, the smile on her face dangerous enough to kill anything that got on the wrong side of her.

"Anyway, go now and do some Rehab. Best to slowly reintroduce it." Shinobu said, cupping your cheek and giving you a kiss.

"I shall see you in the evening, butterfly~." She said, as you blushed and nodded.

"See you later. I love you." You said, giving her a small kiss in return before standing up and making your way inside to the training hall.

When you got there, you found Aoi roaming around, tidying the place up. She didn't notice you at first, but when she did she smiled and walked over to you.

"Y/N! Are you here for Rehabilitation training? Miss Kanae did say you'd be starting it again soon." She said.

"Yeah Shinobu sent me to do some now. Get my body ready for the training with the other Hashira." You said.

"Ohhh yeah. I heard that slayers were being sent to train with the rest of the Hashira. Some of the ones recovering here have already been sent out. Zenitsa left early this morning and Inosuke went a few days ago." She said.
