Chapter 48: The Ruins Of The Entertainment District

"M-My friends....y-you....you didn't kill them did you?!" You look up at the demon siblings who in turn looked at each other.

"We....defeated them....I wouldn't say we killed then though...." Gyutaro began as you pulled yourself to your feet.

"W-we....need to find them.....this place is in absolute ruins....w-what did you even do?" You asked as you liked around at all the burning buildings.

"I....sort of had a fit of rage when I....saw the state you were in...." Daki nervously rubbed her arm as she followed your gaze.

"You....did all this....? I hope everyone managed to get out in time...." You tried walking forward, but your leg gave way.

You would've fallen on the ground if you weren't caught by Daki.

".....thank you...." You looked up at her and smiled a little.

"You're welcome." She smiled back and wrapped her obi sashes around you, lifting you up and placing you on her back.

"You can hardly walk right now....I'll carry you." She said, keeping her sashes around you to make sure you didn't fall off.

"Alright.....thanks...." You said as Daki began slowly walking, with Gyutaro following on behind.

"Those two demons....they are around here somewhere. I didn't get the chance to finish them because I saw you fighting my brother." Daki said as she walked over to a ruined house.

"They were only unconscious." She said as she started to move broken wooden beams out of the way.

After clearing a few, there you found Aira and Mukaho both unconscious. Their clothes had were torn and burnt, but you could see that they were still breathing.

"Okay....that's a relief. W-what about the others?" You looked to Gyutaro for an answer.

"They're.....here somewhere. The hashira....he...might've already succumb to the poison. I'm not sure...." He said causing your eyes to widen and your heart to sink.

".....w-we still need to find them.....come on....bring those two with us. We....can't wait around for them to wake....up...." You said, letting your head fall against Daki's back.

You felt exhausted and your wounds were still painful. Gyutaro nodded and went to pick them both up, however both demons began to stir. Aria's eyes were the first to open.

".....what the....HELL?!" Aria exclaimed and rose to her feet, producing some webs with her hands and taking a defensive stance.

"S-stay back!! W-what did you do with Y/N?!" She asked, ready to attack if she didn't like the answer he gave her.

"Relax....he's right here...." Gyutaro pointed at you, Aria following his finger.

Relief washing over her when she saw you slowly raise your hand to wave.

"H-Hey.....Aria...." You smiled weakly as she covered her mouth with her hand.

"W-what happened to you?! H-Have they....k-kidnapped you?!" She quickly rushed over to your side, placing a hand on your forehead before glaring daggers at Daki.

"N-No.....th-they haven't....i-in fact I.....believe I've managed to make....some new friends...." You chuckled.

"Th-they....a-are on our side.....I-I made the same promise to them....as I did to you...." You said.

"I will find a way.....of turning you all back into humans.....you'll all have a happy life again.....one day....." You closed your eyes and exhaled deeply.
