Days passed and you remained asleep, recovering from your fight in the entertainment district. You were constantly being checked on, each time the person in the room hoping you would wake up.

Whether it would be Himari, Sumi, Naho or Kiyo. Aoi or Kanao. Shinobu or Kanae.

Aoi especially came in to check on you more than the others. She felt a deep sense of guilt as she was supposed to be on the mission with Tengen, before Tanjiro and the others stepped in.

She did not want you to go in the first place, much like Kanae. After what happened with Tengen and how spooked she got, she wanted you to be there with her.

She didn't admit it to anyone, but you made her feel protected.

And then there was your father. He had started to go through his rehabilitation training like you did when you recovered from your injuries.

Each day when he finished, he would come in and check on you too. Not for very long, as one of the nurse girls would urge him back to his room to rest.

All of this went on for two weeks, and there was still no sign that you were going to wake up. That was until, just when it was approaching the third week.

One afternoon, you slowly began to open your eyes. It was hard and you could feel your body aching all over the place.

When they opened, you stared up at the empty ceiling for a few moments before you tried to lift yourself up.

You could hardly move and even when you did, you felt the pain shoot up your spine which made resulted in you yelping in pain.

The next thing you heard, was a hurried set of footsteps and the sound of the door to your room being slammed open.

"Y-Y/N?! A-Are you awake?!" Himari's desperate voice came from the door as you heard her footsteps scurry over to the beside you.

You managed to turn your head to face her. A flood of tears ran down her face as she shakily held out her her arms and hugged you as tightly as she could without hurting you.

"Hi-.....H-Himari...." Your throat felt really dry and you could hardly speak.

"O-oh! H-Here...." The girl let go of you and reached onto the table beside your bed.

"Th-there's water here for you....I-I'll help you drink it...." She slowly and carefully helped pour the water into your mouth so you could swallow it.

She put the glass back on the table when she thought you had had enough.

"H-Hey.....H-Himari...." You said, managing to smile.

All you got in response was sobbing and her head, buried in your shoulder. You slowly lifted your uninjured arm and wrapped it around her to try and comfort her.

"H-How......l-long h-have I been out....?" You asked, feeling a little dazed.

"N-Nearly....th-three weeks....." She said in between her sobs as you felt your heart drop.

"I-I thought....y-you were gonna die....e-every time I came in and saw you sleeping....I-I thought one day....I-I'd come in....a-and you'd be-." She cut herself off as she got too upset.

".....I-I'm not....th-that easy to kill...." You chuckled and coughed, your throat still feeling a little dry and sore.

Himari looked up at you and your smile grew. Your hand rested on top of her head and you rubbed it gently.

"N-No demon....i-is ever going to stop me....f-from coming back....okay?" You said to try and calm the young girl down.

"O-okay....I-I just....d-don't want you to die....n-not now.....after all you promised....." She said as she wiped her tears away.
