Chapter 14: Mount Natagumo

After what was probably the best nights sleep you had had in ages, your eyes slowly fluttered open. There was a distant sound of birds chirping as you yawned and rubbed your eyes.

"Wow...I slept so well...." You muttered as you say up stretched your arms carefully as to not disrupt any of the healing that was going on.

You heard a long exhale of air from beside you and glanced to see Zenitsa laid down on her stomach facing you. She was slowly kicking her legs up and down as she stared at you with this loving look on her face.

"Morning sweetie~...." She cooed. "I guess you slept well last night?"

"Uhm....y-yeah I did thanks. Did you?" You rubbed the back of your neck nervously as she giggled and nodded.

"Very well! Especially knowing that I had you next to me~...." She giggled again and picked herself up so she was more at the same height as you were.

"That's...grand." You could feel some sweat starting to trickle down your face as she leaned in closer and gently grabbed your hands. "I-is....everything okay?"

"Oh yeah...just fine~...." Her eyes were glued to your face as she leaned in closer. You leaned back a little to try and keep the distance.

"Y-you sure? This isn't about last night is it? Tanjiro already told you that me, him and Nezuko are like family. There is no chance of any romantic relationship between me and her. She's basically my little sister!" You reiterated what Tanjiro told her last night, many times. She got the hint in the end, but because of how close she saw Nezuko was to you, she couldn't help but be mega jealous.

That's why she was in this mood in the morning.

"I know but....you are aware that I do still wanna marry you. I mean look at how perfect you are!" She giggled and moved her hands onto your cheeks, squishing then gently before wrapping her arms around your neck.

"H-Hahah....i-it really is very odd having a girl pay this much attention to me...." You were getting even more nervous. There were times where you thought you were able to put up with this girl and how clingy she was.

But it was clear that when she was in this mood, that there was no way you were prepared for it.

"Oh morning Y/N!" Tanjiro walked into the room and smirked a little at scene in front of him.

"Y-yeah morning Tanjiro....you alright?" You ask averting your attention from the blonde girl who was shuffling ever closer to you.

"Yep! Slept really well and feeling much better today! What about you?" He asked while going over to check on Nezuko.

"Same as you to be fair. Recovering well and just had the best nights sleep I've had in ages." You felt extra weight on your chest as you looked down to see that Zenitsa had shuffled her way into you and buried herself in your chest.

Her muffled giggling the proof that she felt comfortable and happy there. You only sighed and rubbed her head as you tried to stand up. However, the girl was having none of it and held onto you tightly to keep you down.

"Noooo! Not yet...." She whined and looked up at you with big eyes as her bottom lip quivered.

"....fine....ten more minutes then...." You slumped in defeat as she cheered and rubbed her cheek against yours before resting her head on your shoulder.

"Thank you~...." She looked up at you lovingly. You could tell everything that was running through her mind just by the look on her face.

Eventually though, you were interrupted by Inosuke barging into the room. He roared at the top of his lungs and head butted Tanjiro.
