Chapter 20: The Beginning of Rehabilitation Training

The next few weeks or so were mainly spent in the hospital ward recovering from your injuries. You hardly left your bed other than to go to the bathroom or go outside for some fresh air.

At first you did have to be assisted because it was difficult for you to walk, but over time you managed to do the trips on your own as your wounds and bones healed.

Zenitsa would still complain about the medicine, but she was getting used to it and drank it without having to be nagged too much by Aoi.

"Good day to everyone! How are you all feeling today?" The now familiar voice of the insect hashira filled the room. Shinobu had been checking in everyday to see how everyone was progressing.

"Morning Lady Kocho! I'm feeling really good today!" Tanjiro cheerfully replied as she smiled widely at him.

"That's great!" She looked around the room and her eyes landed on you.

"Morning Miss Kocho." You smiled and waved at her. "I'm doing okay. Much better now."

"That is very good to hear!" She smiled wider.

She always seemed so happy which astounded you really. You had no clue how someone could smile every hour of every day.

And today, she seemed to be happier than ever.

"You seem really happy today." You commented as she nodded her head.

"I am! My sister is returning from her mission today! It has kept her away since the hashira meeting! She was called immediately after it!" She explained.

"Your sister is a hashira too?" You asked.

"She is! She's the flower hashira!" Shinobu replied, causing you to nod. "She'll be back later though. For now, if any of you are ready then we can start you on your rehabilitation training!"

"What's that?" Tanjiro asked as Shinobu clasped her hands together.

"You will see when you get in there! Aoi will explain it all to you! That being said, how many of you think you'll be able to start today?" She looked around.

"I think I can!" You raised your hand as did Tanjiro.

"I will too...." Inosuke grunted from beside you and slowly pulled himself up from his bed.

He had been pretty quiet as his throat had been healing. Slowly but surely though, he did start talking more.

Zenitsa on the other hand, was asleep. She wouldn't have been able to join in anyway as her arms and legs were still not grown back enough yet.

"Excellent! Come on then you three! I'll take you to the training hall and notify Aoi and Kanao that you are ready!" Shinobu waited at the door as the three of you got up from your beds and followed her through the house.

"Feels nice to be doing something again. Was kinda getting bored laying in bed all the time." You said to the other two as you walked.

"Yeah you got that right! You still seem like you've got a bit of a limp there though Y/N. You sure you'll be okay?" Tanjiro asked, worried.

"I'll be fine. I've been through worse." You shrugged it off for now, but would be sure to be careful.

"Okay here we are! Just wait here for me!" The insect pillar led you into a large open room before quickly leaving.

There were mats laid out on one side, a table set up on the other and a large open space in the middle.

The three of you were stood around waiting for s few minutes before you heard the door open again. In stepped Aoi who had removed her nurse robe leaving her in just her demon slayer uniform.
