Rest.

That was the only thing you were being prescribed with for now. Well, other than a decent dose of the disgusting medicine water everyday.

Kanae had taken it upon herself to withdraw you from action for the foreseeable future, so you had plenty of time to heal fully from not only the wounds you sustained at the entertainment district, but the ones you got while fighting at the swordsmith village too.

"I knew it was a reckless decision to send you out while you were still recovering. I should've put my foot down. With that and with the whole business with Uzui..." Kanae said to you as she sat on a chair beside your bed, spending some time with you while she had it.

"Well...it's a good thing that I did go to both places. Because if I didn't...I wouldn't be there to help. Upper Moons are no joke and no matter how injured we are, we have to be ready." You said as Kanae sighed and nodded her head.

"You are right...it's just my job as your teacher and as a hashira to keep you safe and train you to be stronger." She said while reaching for your hand, taking it into hers and holding onto it gently.

"But now...you take this time and you rest so you can fully recover. When you feel that the time is right, I'll put you through the rehabilitation training again." Kanae continued, gaining a nod in response from you.

"I hope you had no trouble while we were gone. Especially since there are four demons living here now too." You said after a period of silence.

"No no. Surprisingly, we've had no trouble from them. They've kept themselves confined to the sunblocked room. Not that i blame them however." Kanae replied.

"Right. That's good. I'll have to go and see them when I get the chance." You said as Kanae pat your hand and stood up.

"Indeed, but please rest for now please. That is what you need, and plenty of it too. I have other duties to attend to, so I'll have Aoi come and check on you every so often." She said before giving you a gentle kiss on the top of your head and leaving the room.

You let out a deep breath and smiled as you leaned your head back on your pillow and calmed yourself to try and see if you could get some rest. A few hours later, you opened your eyes again and found that it was dark outside.

The moonlight shone through your window, illuminating the wall on the opposite side of it. You decided to get out of your bed so you could stretch your legs and arms.

Walking over to the window, you opened it which allowed a gentle breeze to blow into the room and onto your face. After a few minutes you felt a pair of arms wrap gently around you followed by an added weight to your shoulder.

"Good evening...butterfly~." Shinobu's soft voice filled your ear, making your face heat up and go slightly red.

"H-Hey! Glad to see you got back safely from your mission." You said.

"And it's good to see you back from yours too." Shinobu replied.

"Well...not mission, but it certainly seemed to turn into one from what I've heard." She continued.

"Another two upper moons decided to show up at the village. I thought it was hard to find, but I guess it was something that was going to happen sooner or later." You said as you slowly wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Can't seem to catch a break, but as a demon slayer we aren't meant to I suppose." You went on before stopping yourself.

"Hmm~...Hmm~. You are correct. But Nee-San has told me that you should be resting. Your injuries never fully healed before you went off to get a replacement sword." Shinobu said as her smile faltered and a vein popped in her forehead.
