Chapter 19: Reunion at The Butterfly Mansion

"Please Miss Zenitsa! You must take this medicine!" It was a little while later, and you had managed to get back to your own bed. Zenitsa was still refusing to take her medicine, with the triplet nurse assistants trying their hardest to get her to drink it.

"NOOO YOU CAN'T MAKE ME TAKE IT!!! I DON'T WANNA DRINK THAT STUFF!!!" She wailed as the three girls persisted.

"Zenitsa....come on. These girls are trying their hardest to help you recover. Make their job a little easier." You tried to see if you could persuade her, but nothing seemed to get through to her.

"BUT YOU CAN VOUCH FOR ME, RIGHT?! YOU DRANK IT AND FOUND IT HORRIBLE!!!" She yelled.

"It is disgusting....but you'll never recover if you don't drink it." You calmly responded, but still it didn't work.

"IT STILL DOESN'T TAKE AWAY FROM THE FACT THAT STUFF TASTES HORRIBLE!!!" She wailed as the three girls backed up from her bedside.

"Well it was worth a try." You grabbed your pillow and put it over your face to try and cover your ears as she continued yelling.

At that moment, the door to the ward opened and Aoi entered, sighing at the sight of Zenitsa still refusing to take her medicine.

"Still not taking it, huh? Whatever....come on in. We've got plenty of free beds." She spoke to whoever she was with. You still had the pillow over your face so you hadn't seen who she was with yet.

Soon though, you felt her gently shake your shoulder which prompted you to remove the pillow.

"You okay there?" She asked, slight concern written on her face.

"Her yelling." You simply pointed at Zenitsa and Aoi nodded in understanding.

"I understand." She took the pillow from you and put it back where it should be before gesturing you to put your head back down on it.

"Y-Y/N!" But upon hearing Tanjiro's voice again, you were sat back up again. "Y-you're alright!!! Y-You're still alive!!" His voice was quickly beginning to break as the tears streamed down his face.

"H-Hey Tanjiro....." You gave him a small smile as he was lowered off the back of the person who was carrying him.

With some difficulty he limped his way over and hugged you as tightly as he could without causing you any pain.

That was when the floodgates open. The boy couldn't stop himself from bawling his eyes out as he held onto you.

"E-Everything's okay now Tanjiro....we all survived...." You tried to comfort him but it was doing nothing of the sort.

"I-I-I was so scared....y-your breathing was so shallow....a-and your heart was beating so slowly....I-I thought I was about to lose you...." He looked up at you, his face full of tears. "I-I've already lost most my family....I-I can't lose anymore of it...."

You lifted your arms and hugged him back as best you could. "I-I'm sorry for making you worry....a-and for being too much of an obstacle in the fight...."

"Y-you weren't an obstacle! Don't say that! That demon was...stronger than any demon we've faced before. P-please don't think like that Y/N...." Despite crying, Tanjiro put on the most serious demeanour he could at the time.

"O-okay....I'll try not too...." You smiled and nodded.

"I....really hate to have to break this up, but you need your rest Y/N. That goes for you too Tanjiro. The sooner we get started on the treatment the better." The usually stern Aoi had let the tender moment play out for as long as she could before having to take the initiative as the nurse.
