Chapter 63: Zohakuten

A lot of dust and dirt was kicked up when you were attacked by the large wooden dragon. Nezuko was still stood in front of you in a protective way as you reached over and picked up your sword.

After you did that, you rose up to your feet and gently pat Nezuko on the shoulder.

"Thank you for protecting me." You said before taking a few steps in front of her into the dust.

As it began to clear, you could see what looked like a young boy with spiked up hair and seemed to have a set of drums floating behind him. In his hands were some kind of drumsticks and he had an enraged expression on his face.

"So there's another demon now? What about the other five? If we still have to fight them as well, then this will be a hard battle." You thought, but held your sword and held yourself up confidently.

"No matter. We've gotten through everything thrown at us so far, we can get through this too!" The determination filled your body as you kept on stepping forward, stopping a good distance away from the demon.

Once you got close enough, the demon started talking to you.

"You brutal fiends who torment the weak!! You're atrocious! Offensive! And despicable!!" He said as the air around you changed and began to feel heavy and foul.

"This guy is no joke! The air around him is much more intimidating than before! Can't let my guard down!" You thought as you heard footsteps come from beside you.

"Y/N! Thank goodness you're okay!! I don't know where the other five demons are! There's no trace of them anymore!!!" Tanjiro said as he stood beside you.

"Then we focus on one thing at a time. Starting with him." You said, pointing your sword at the demon.

From where you were stood, you could hear the sound of whimpering and crying. Looking closer, you could just about see the demons main body in its small form. Cowering away as it held his head and sobbed.

"It's still crying? Even after all that running? Why is it so scared?" You asked.

The younger looking demon then hit one of the drums that was floating behind him. It created a sort of wooden cage that surrounded the main body and sealed it away from any harm.

"Hold it!" Tanjiro yelled.

The demon turned its head to face you both, and immediately when you were in his gaze you could feel the energy zap out of your body. The air you was getting so heavy that it was hard to breathe. It even got difficult to keep yourself on your feet or keep hold of your sword.

"What's wrong? Answer me." The demon spoke.

"Do you have a problem with what I'm doing, or can I can continue my duty here?" He asked.

You tried giving an answer, but at the moment were finding it difficult to get the words out of your mouth.

"Well? Do you? Awful villains..." The demon said after waiting a while for an answer and not getting one.

"...hahaha..." You started to laugh as you gripped your sword and lifted your head so you looked at the demon.

"Did I say something that amused you fiend? Do you take pleasure in trying to decapitate small, defenceless creatures?" The demon snarled as you kept on laughing, slowly managing to fight back against the demons influence.

"...you call us awful villains...for trying to kill something so small...but you tell me how many defenceless and vulnerable humans have died because of that demon..." You said.

"Tell me what sets you apart from us...if we are such awful villains in your eyes..." You continued, clutching your sword tightly as you continued to step forward.
