Chapter 44: Uzui's Wives

"Can't believe this has happened again.....it's like Mount Natagumo....." You grumbled to yourself as you sat around waiting to what was to happen next.

"Need to stop this shit from happening! And why has this demon seemingly taken a liking to me?! This is the third one now!!" You began to raise your voice as you became more agitated and tried harder to free your hands from their restraints.

"Quiet!" The sash barked from above you as it kept watch, waiting for Daki to turn up.

"Yeah yeah whatever...." You mumbled and sighed as you let your head drop.

"At least it seems like she won't kill me....I guess that's a plus?" You thought, trying to remain slightly positive.

"Or she might wanna turn me into a demon too.....that ain't happening! No way!" You lifted your head up and felt your defiance build back up again.

Suddenly, you heard a distance echoing laughter which made your eyes dart around in search of the source of the noise.

"Eh? The hell was that?" You said as you heard the laughter again, this time much closer.

"Hold on....I recognise that laughter...." You thought as you heard it again, much clearer now.

It was more of a cackling now, one that you recognised instantly and made you light up.

"Inosuke!" You blurted out as the sash looked at you and then at the falling rocks and dirt that came with the loud cackling.

"HERE I AM DEMON!!!! THE KING OF THE MOUNTAINS HAS ARRIVED!!!!" His voice boomed and echoed around the cave. You swore you could feel it shake a little too.

"Oh my god Inosuke! I am SO glad to see you!!!" You were absolutely ecstatic.

Inosuke landed on the ground a good distance in front of you, and stared at you feeling a little confused.

"N/Y? What are you doing down here? Why have you got those weird belts wrapped around your hands and legs?!" He said while pointing one of his sword at them.

"I've gotten myself into a spot of bother. Let me guard down while fighting soooo....I could do with a hand!" You said.

"AHAHAHAH!!! FEAR NOT MY FAITHFUL UNDERLING!!!! THE LORD INOSUKE IS HERE TO SAVE THE DAY!!!" He yelled before charging towards you to free you.

He was however blocked during his charge towards you by multiple obi sashes, which he had to cut through.

"YOU WILL NEVER GOT YOUR HANDS ON MISTRESS DAKI'S PROPERTY!!!!" The sash was now extremely pissed off again and sent dozens of them at Inosuke.

"OH ITS ON!!! KING OF THE MOUNTAINS, COMING THROUGH!!!!!!!" Inosuke took this as a challenge and started cutting through any sashes he came across.

Some of which were the ones that had the human faces on them. Despite being so reckless, he still managed to cut them down in such a way that didn't harm any of the humans on them.

You could just about see the chaos unfolding and you saw that where the sashes had been cut from the ceiling, there were people laid on the floor unconscious.

"I have no idea how he's managing to be so precise yet so reckless at the same time. It's impressive really!" You admired Inosuke as he kept on fighting.

Eventually, Inosuke cut a path towards you and made a run for it. He quickly slashed at the sashes that had you tied up, before he grabbed you by the hand and dragged you to your feet.

"I'VE GOT YOU UNDERLING!!!" He yelled as he brought you a safe distance away.

"I owe you one for sure Inosuke! You're a lifesaver!" Relief filled your body as you pat Inosuke on the back to show your gratitude.
