Whenever any demon encountered Lord Muzan, it was always an event that would fill them with an immense fear. One that was unrivalled.

They never knew whether he needed them, or wanted to dispose of them because they were not adequate enough for him. But being a member of the twelve kizuki meant that he always had a use for you, right?

Wrong.

The twelve kizuki was divided in half. The upper ranks which consisted of the six most powerful demons in Muzan's ranks, and the lower six who were powerful in their own right.

Each one got their share of their lords blood, in an effort to make them more powerful and devour more humans.

The demons of the upper ranks had remained unchanged for centuries, with the lower ranks always seeming too weak to take their place.

And the current members of the lower six were just the same, which was starting to wear Muzan's patience down leading him to gather the lower ranks for a meeting.

Only five were present, with Lower Five already having been beheaded by the Water Hashira. It was this that made Muzan snap. He knew that these lower ranks were far too weak, and of no use to him.

So one by one he slaughtered the lower ranks, showing no mercy, nor giving them much chance of proving that they could be better.

Until he came to a female demon wearing a red kimono. Grey horns poked out of her forehead, and sweat and tears were pouring down her face and out of her red eyes. She was shaking too, scared for her life.

Lower Four: Mukago.

The mere sight of her shivering and sobbing made him cringe in disgust. Seeing such weakness made him want to grind her into a pulp.

But he thought that to be a waste of his time and effort. "Look at you....to think that you even managed to become one of the Twelve Kizuki. I don't think I've seen anything more pathetic...."

He sneered before continuing to spout insults at the demon, asking her questions and getting whimpers and nervous responses.

The words stabbed deep into the soul of the demon. She thought she had genuinely been trying her hardest. It wasn't her fault that the hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps were all big and scary!

She yelped when she felt a scratching in her eyeball. Blood seeped out of her eye as she covered it with her hand.

"I will not waste my time on you. You clearly are not worth my effort." He spat out, the demoness slowly raised her head to look at him.

Just in front of her was the last member of the lower ranks that hadn't been killed besides her. A cruel and sadistic smile was plastered on his face, like he was enjoying watching all this.

Suddenly, she felt a powerful force slam into her face sending her flying off the platform she was on. It was followed by the single strum of a biwa, before she felt her back hit the ground again.

Silence.

It filled the air around her as she slowly sat up and took a look around. Thankfully is was dark so she wouldn't be torched by the sunlight.

"I-it's so quiet here....i-is there going to be any demons slayers around here?! I-I really hope not!!!" She was still shaking as she teared up again.

Her face was still hurting from the hit she received, but being deposed by Lord Muzan was the thing that hurt the most. She thought she would be able to serve him, and being cast out like this instead of just killed felt even worse.

It made her feel even more pathetic.

Slowly, she stood herself up and brushed the dirt off of her kimono. Figuring there wasn't much else she could do, she just began walking.
