Unfortunately for them both they weren't able to get food together as soon after leaving the Seamstress's workroom a guard approached them.
Informing Aiden that his father wanted to speak with him.

So instead Sora just headed home. That was enough excitement for one day anyway.

A few days passed before it was finally Sunday. The boy took a bath that morning, making sure to wash himself good for going to the ancient temple. It felt wrong to be dirty on such sacred grounds.

Not that he was too dirty anyway since he normally rubbed himself down with a wet cloth and soapy water every morning, but still.

He got dressed in an old green shirt, followed by a black button up shirt so he didn't look too bad before picking some dark blue pants. They were old and had a few dirt stains at the knee and lower leg area but they would have to do since he didn't have anything nicer. Or warmer.

Thankfully the Fosters weren't home so he was able to slip out of the house with no issues and make his way to the old Church.

The walk was relatively uneventful, he surprisingly only slipped once. But thankfully didn't fall.

There were a few birds singing in the distance like usual that he listened to. Humming softly to himself and pretending he was a bird singing too.

It didn't take long before he arrived at the Church. Unfortunately it was busy since it was the weekend so he hurried to stand at a lamppost close to the street, trying to stay out of the way.

He didn't know how much time passed before he spotted a carriage from the Castle. It stopped just in front of the Church and he watched as the coachman and another man looked around the area. When they spotted him and waved him over his heartbeat quickened.

He crossed the street as fast as he could without slipping and noticed -once he could see them well enough- that the other person was actually Aiden's guard. The man got down from his seat beside the coachman as Sora drew timidly closer to the carriage.

He watched as the guard knocked on the carriage doorway, briefly say something that the boy couldn't hear and then turn back to face him.

When Sora got close enough the man spoke.

"In here, sir."

The boy bit his lip at the formal title being used to address him. But he didn't say anything and just got into the carriage as the guard held the curtain aside for him.

His mood immediately brightened at seeing the Prince sat on the cushioned seat.

"Hey, come on."

Aiden patted the spot next to him and the boy happily obliged, sitting down right next to the Prince.

"Are you ready?"

Sora giggled softly, nodding his head and reciprocating the hug Aiden gave him. The Prince quickly kissed his cheek before pulling away.

"Okay, the carriage will take us just outside the kingdom and then we'll travel on horseback."

Sora's eyes widened. He'd never ridden a horse before. Aiden seemed to notice his hesitance as he gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind the boy's ear.
