"Are you and Sora in a romantic relationship?"

The Prince was silent as he took in Mr, Baker's expression. He couldn't see any discernible emotions on the old man's face and he couldn't tell if that was a good or bad thing.

But before he got too deep into his thoughts, the old man continued.

"If you are i'm not judging you, I simply would like to know rather than continue to speculate."

Aiden continued to frown, but it softened slightly at the man's explanation.

"We have expressed interest in one another and plan to go on a tryst. But as of right now that is it."

The old man nodded.

"Alright, I just wanted to know. How is he doing? I know it must've hurt him badly to not find his Soulmate today."

Aiden sighed, the reminder of Sora's breakdown dampening his mood significantly.

"He was.. not okay earlier. But I think he's feeling better now that he knows he'll be staying in the academy."

Aiden didn't want to disclose exactly what happened, he didn't feel like it was within his right to tell the old man. Even if he did, it wasn't necessary for the teacher to know, so he kept his explanation vague.

Mr, Baker seemed to notice that, however he didn't question the Prince further and simply nodded in acknowledgment.

"I was hoping it would not turn out this way for him. But after the first meet up some part of me suspected it would."

"Why's that?"

The man sighed, running his fingers through his short, grey hair.

"He isn't really able to participate in the meet and greet very well since it is so chaotic. I have learned that he does not fare well in crowds and high energy situations, so it seemed unlikely to me that he would have a good chance to interact with the dragons.

I have already thanked Kazua for helping him and answering the questions he has. But I wanted to extend my thanks to you as well, I know you have helped him a lot."

Aiden smiled, absentmindedly rubbing his hand across Sora's upper back.

"There's no need to thank me. What I've done for him has helped us both."

The old man nodded in understanding.

"That's good, but still. Thank you. I'm sure without you helping him he would not be here right now."

Aiden sighed, the smile fading from his lips at the reminder of Sora's missing Soulmate. He had to hope the boy would find them soon. He couldn't imagine life without Kazua, as stupid and annoying as the beast is, he's also one of, if not the most important relationship the Prince has.

It would break his heart even more if Sora never got to experience that kind of relationship.

"I'm sorry to remind you, but I was under the impression that you had a meeting with His, Majesty around this time?"

"Shit..!"

Aiden groaned, he had completely forgotten about the meeting. He was almost certainly late.

"I've got Sora, you just do what you need to."

The Prince nodded, begrudgingly handing the boy over to Mr, Baker.
