'Do you ever regret it?' Ashton asked, looking at me.
I frowned 'Did I ever regret what?'
'Deciding to come to Australia?'
I looked at the TV, thinking of a way to answer his question.
'Not really, I mean it wasn't easy but I have my parents' most important stuff here now so it feels a little like I was meant to come here. I know that sounds weird, but I don't know how else to explain it'
The guys nodded, seeming to understand what I was trying to say.
It has been 3 years since I decided to get on the plane with Luke.
I remember hearing Ashton ask Luke if I was staying in New Zealand and I remember Luke laughing and softly squeezing my hand when he said I wasn't.
That was the moment I realized I made the right decision.
In that moment I felt calm, happy, relieved, and then we got on the plane and I realized we were going up in the air and all those feelings were replaced with anxiety.
'I think about going back sometimes, just to see what happened to the house, what kind of people live in it now and if my neighbour is still alive'
I felt Luke smile at the thought of the old little lady that came up to me when I went outside for the first time in my life.
'That lady was onto me the first time she saw me, do you remember that?' he said.
I looked at him, he looked completely calm and happy and that alone is what created the smile on my face every single day.
'I do, she was going to tell me that you were in a band back then wasn't she?' I said.
Luke nodded 'Until I interrupted her to make her stop talking'
We were quiet again for a couple minutes.
It happened quite a lot that whenever they would be back here after a tour, we would think back to something that happened a couple years ago.
No one knew why or how it happened, it just kind of did.
'Hey guys' Michael said, looking at us.
'I want to go somewhere' the guys all nodded and stood up, not questioning where he wanted to go.
I guess that was the amount of trust you get when you're stuck with each other for months.
'Where are we going?' I asked, getting up as well.
'Just about 10 minutes away. We're driving though' Michael said.
'Aren't you guys really jet lagged?' I asked 'Is it even safe to drive right now?'
The guys looked at each other and shrugged.
'We'll be fine' Calum said.
I sighed and followed them to the car.
You could barely call it a car anymore, it was actually a little van because you can't fit 4 people in the back of a normal car.
We silently drove around Sydney for 10 minutes until Michael stopped the car and we all got out.
We were on a little hill that looked over a very small section of the city.
Michael laid down on the grass that covered the ground and sighed a relieved sigh.
Calum and Ashton sat down on top of the car and Luke and I sat down right beside Michael.
I couldn't help but think about the music video of amnesia, with them sitting on top of and around the car, looking over the city.
'Do you ever miss road tripping?' I asked Luke, I was sitting in between his legs making it hard for me to actually see his face.
Luke nodded 'Kind of, we had a lot of fun with the camping and the swimming and the toothbrush fence and stuff' he smiled.
'You should do it again' Calum said.
'What? A road trip?' I asked.
He nodded 'It's going to be the last trip you're going to have with just the 2 of you for a very long time'
I looked at my belly before sitting up straight and looking at Luke.
'I mean, technically we can do it. I have a few weeks of anyway' I said, feeling the excitement build up inside of me.
Luke looked at the guys and nodded.
'Are we going to take the guys with us?' he asked.
I looked at Calum and Ashton who were completely focused on our conversation and at Michael who was just casually laying in the grass with his eyes closed.
'I guess we could. You left them all alone last time so why not?'
The guys all cheered and jumped around excitedly, even Michael managed to sit up straight and pull us in a hug before focusing back on the view we had.
'But where are we going to go then?' I asked.
'To the moon' Michael said, pointing his finger to the moon right in front of us.
'I think someone else has to drive us back to the apartment because apparently Michael now thinks we can go to space' Luke said, grinning widely.
'No dude, I just meant that way. The way the moon is going right now. We'll just travel through Australia starting here in Sydney and then following the moon to that side of the country'
We all sat in silence, completely dumb-founded by how easy he just made that up.
'That...is a really good idea' I said, looking at Luke for approval.
He nodded, looking at the moon in front of us.
'Let's do it' he said excitedly.
'To the moon' Calum and Ashton said, admiring the way it sounded.
I smiled and looked at Michael who looked our way in excitement.
'To the moon' I nodded, feeling like I needed to say it as well.
'Let's do it'
