'Okay, so we're sitting on these?' I laughed, 'No one ever told me we were going to travel through the Red Centre by sitting on a camel'
The guys all smiled, only realising how weird it sounds now.
'We kind of...decided this last night when you were a sleep but we figured you'd be okay with it' Luke smiled, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.
'Oh I am, I just didn't expect you guys to come up with this' I grinned, following everyone to the back of the building where the camels were patiently waiting for new visitors.
We walked inside and our guide told one of the workers they had to take 6 camels out before telling us to wait outside.
'How are we ever going to be able to climb on top of them?' I mumbled, unconsciously placing my hand on my baby bump 'look at them they're huge'
'They'll probably help us up' Luke grinned.
'Hey V?' Ashton asked. 'I bet you've never been this close to a camel before'
I shook my head and looked at him.
'Have you?' I asked.
'ppfftt,' Ashton started, already letting me know the next thing he was going to say would be a joke 'I've been on so many camels in my life, I might as well be one myself'
I grinned and looked at our guide as he stopped walking in front of us, the last of the 6 camels waiting beside him.
The smell was almost unbearable and I was pretty sure I wouldn't get it out of my clothes and hair for a week, but I didn't complain.
You don't sit on the back of a camel every day.
'Who's first?' our guide asked.
'Ivy's going first!' Michael yelled, pointing at me.
'Ladies always go first right?' Ashton smiled innocently.
I shrugged and walked up to the camel.
Our guide helped us up like Luke predicted and after giving us a few instructions, we started moving.
The camels knew where they had to go so there wasn't much for us to do except sit and look around.
Our guide told us about some of the things we saw along the way but I was mostly focused on the red sand the camels were walking on and the mountains dooming up on the horizon.
It was ridiculously early, meaning we would be able to see the sunrise from here.
Which apparently, was exactly why the guys had picked out this time of the day.
The camels slowly trailed behind each other, not seeming fazed or interested by what was happening at all.
They looked kind of bored if I had to be honest.
After what felt like only just a few minutes, the camels stopped walking right beside each other, as if they had been taught a trick and they knew they'd be treated afterwards.
My camel, which was called "Diar" because it had problems digesting his food and therefore always had diarrea, stopped walking in between the camel Luke was sitting on, and the one Calum was sitting on.
Luke smiled at me, clearly enjoying this just as much as I was.
He stuck out his hand and I took it without hesitation.
We looked in front of us and were met with the sun rising just above the horizon.
It gave the mountains a beautiful red/purple glow, the colors of the yellow and green grass seemed to intensify when the sun finally reached it and the heat that was slowly starting to warm us up made it all look and feel very magical.
It was one of those things you can only appreciate in silence.
There were no words to describe what it looked like exactly or how it made you feel. You just had to see it at least once in your life.
Luke softly squeezed my hand, as if to make sure I was still there and I looked up at him.
The orange glow of the sun made him look just as beautiful and magical as the view we had.
He looked very angelic and it only made me smile more, knowing that I was never going to get this out of my head ever again.
We all stood there in complete silence as the sun moved further up the sky, no one wanted to break the silence since we all knew that was going to ruin this moment.
I smiled, thinking back to when Luke and I had our first kiss in the glowworm cave.
That was just as magical as this and our guide that day was the one to break the silence and move on.
I looked to my right where Cal and Mikey were quietly staring at the view the same way we Luke and I were, Ashton had a big, goofy smile on his face and was quietly taking pictures, trying to capture the view in a way that it would be as beautiful as it was in real life.
About 30 minutes passed until our guide interrupted all our thoughts and told us it was time to head back.
We all nodded and the camels automatically followed as our guide turned around and started leading us back.
I figured the best part of the tour would be done, but as we made our way back, we got to see the dessert come to life.
A few birds were flying passed us, insects and little reptiles were starting their busy days filled with danger and fighting for survival, looking for some food to eat before crawling back under the sand.
I sometimes wondered why humans had made life so complicated for themselves.
All the animals had to think about was trying to stay alive and find food, we had made it complicated to the point where we needed perfect hair and perfect nails and you had to wear a certain brand of clothes to be able to fit in with a certain crowd.
We had to work our asses off to earn some money to be able to eat and live in a house and have electricity and phones and TV's, but those things become completely useless once you lose your job and can't pay for it anymore.
We made our lives so complicated and stressful and yet, no one seemed to look at it that way.
