'So just to be clear, we had to actually have a good plan for this road trip before we left to make sure I would get enough sleep and the baby would be safe, but you do want me to get on a seaplane?' I asked, trying to find the logic in that.
Luke smiled widely and nodded. 'Unless you don't want to, but I figured you'd want to see Sydney from high up in the sky'
I nodded and followed him and the other guys to the seaplane.
'Besides, we've lived in Sydney for years now and we've barely seen anything'
I grinned, knowing he was right.
We had a few places we always liked to go but we never really went further than that.
We sat down in the seaplane, following the instructions that the pilot was giving us.
I was seated beside Luke, Ashton and Calum were in the row behind us and Michael got to sit up front next to the pilot.
'Are you sure Chloe isn't going to join us?' I asked.
Calum nodded.
'She couldn't just tell her boss she's not coming for the next 3 weeks. She tried but it didn't work'
I nodded. 'I'm sorry'
Calum smiled sadly, 'It's okay. We have quite some time off so I'll be spending the rest of the days we have left with her'
'Is she okay with you coming with us?' Ashton asked.
'I mean, she didn't necessarily like it, but she also said that she didn't want to be the one keeping me from doing things I wanted to do so she told me to go'
We nodded and I smiled at him before the plane started making a lot of noise.
We slowly started moving and I automatically grabbed Luke's hand.
Flying still scared me a little and holding Luke's hand always seemed to make me feel safer.
Luke smiled at me reassuringly as the seaplane went higher up in the air.
We were flying around for about 5 minutes, going higher and higher, until the pilot started talking about the things there were to see.
We made a little circle, starting at Shark island, we went to Nielson Park and Watsons Bay and then we went to Bondi Beach via the cliffs of South Head and the Eastern Suburbs. Then flying around the Opera House and the Harbour bridge before turning back to Rose Bay where we had started our flight.
'This is amazing' I said, looking at the window when we flew around the Opera House.
'Do you think we can see our houses from here?' Calum suddenly asked.
I grinned and shook my head. 'I'm pretty sure we can't see our houses from here Cal'
'You might find your apartment, you guys live closest to these places' Ashton said, looking out the window to try and find it.
My curiosity took over as I looked out the window as well.
'Omygod I think Ash is right, isn't it right there?' Luke said, pointing to a small little dot all the way in the back.
'I think it is' I said, smiling widely.
To be honest I didn't see anything, I just decided to play along.
'Fuck yeah, we have the best apartment' Luke said, giving me a high five.
'Of course we do, we live in it' I said, making Michael laugh.
'Yeah, I think that's what makes it such a great place to live' he said.
I nodded, ignoring the sarcasm in his voice.
I rested my head against Luke's shoulder, looking out the window.
'Especially when you're back' I mumbled.
Luke kissed the top of my head and smiled.
'I'm always coming back' he said.
I nodded again.
'I don't understand why but I know'
Luke wrapped his arms around my waist, subtly placing his hand on my growing belly.
I smiled, placing my hand on top of his.
'Hey guys, I'm quitting the band,' Michael said 'I'm going to become a pilot instead'
We all laughed, imagining how stressful a flight would be if Michael would be the pilot.
'I love you man, and I'm all for living your dreams but you can't sit still that long' Ashton said.
'But I'm good in pressing buttons, I mean, look at all of these! I might not be able to sit still for that long when I have nothing to do but look at all these buttons! I want to like, press them all at the same time and hope that we won't crash.
'Why was he sitting up front again?' Ashton asked at the same time Calum said: 'Please don't, there's a fetus on board'
He slapped his hand in front of his mouth, realizing the pilot could hear us as well.
'Well, so much for keeping that a secret' Michael mumbled.
I looked at Luke, not sure what to do.
'I'm sorry' Calum mumbled. 'Omygod I fucked up, didn't I?'
Luke looked at the pilot, ignoring Calum's question.
'Can you please just pretend you never heard that?' he asked kindly.
The pilot nodded and smiled.
'I never heard a thing'
Calum let out a relieved sigh, and rested his head against the chair in front of him.
'I'm sorry man' he mumbled again.
Luke rested his head on top of mine and looked out the window, unconsciously rubbing his thumb over my belly.
'It's alright don't worry about it. It slipped'
