'Luke?!' I yelled as I walked inside our apartment 'I'm home!'
I dropped my bag on the floor and shrugged my jacket off my shoulders.
'I'm in our bedroom!' Luke yelled back.
I smiled and quickly kicked off my shoes before I made my way to our bedroom.
Luke looked up shortly when I walked inside and he moved to the side, making room for me to sit beside him.
'How was work?' he asked, not looking up from his laptop.
I grabbed a clean shirt and some sweatpants from our closet and pulled my shirt over my head as I replied.
'The usual. You know, the occasional old women asking what the best romance novel is and the little kids who just started learning how to read asking which book has the most pictures.'
I slipped my clean shirt over my head and replaced my skinny jeans for my sweatpants and crawled under the blankets beside him.
'What've you been up to?' I asked, looking at Luke's laptop screen.
He shut it quickly and placed it on his nightstand as I frowned.
'I had a thought,' He said, looking at me with a serious expression on his face.
'What if we move?'
'Move where?' I asked, though I had an idea as to what he was talking about.
'Perth. We won't be able to see my parents as much and you'll have to find another job but at least I won't have to practically chain you to our bed when you have another dream and your instincts tell you to run to Perth in your pyjama's'
I grinned and looked at him.
'You'd want to do that?' I asked.
'Of course. You're not the only one wanting to go see her again.' Luke smiled sadly.
'But the next tour starts in 2 weeks. We won't be able to move all our stuff to Perth, and get me a job, and paint everything and decorate it and...well...find a place to live in the first place.'
Luke grinned. 'Why do you always think so logically?'
I pressed a kiss against his cheek and shrugged before cuddling up against him.
'We can do it when you get back though.'
Luke nodded, 'But we're not making any plans when I'm gone. We made a deal not to do that when I left for the first tour and we're still not doing it now. We'll start making plans for what happens after the tour when there's only just about a month of the tour left.'
I nodded as I subconsciously started fiddling with the edge of his underwear. I knew what kind of rules we had made for ourselves. They didn't always make a lot of sense, but we managed to get through every single tour so it did seem to work.
We fell into a comfortable silence as Luke was drawing small circles on my back underneath my shirt.
'Do you miss it?' Luke suddenly asked 'Being pregnant I mean.'
I nodded 'I do. But there's not a lot we can do about it with you leaving in 2 weeks.'
The circles Luke was drawing on my back slowly became bigger.
He had used this trick on me before, it was the perfect way to pull my shirt up as high as it could get.
I also knew what these actions always resulted in, though for the first time in what seemed like years, I kind of wanted it to go that way.
'We can try though?' Luke said, the grin on his face clear in his voice.
I rolled my eyes and sat up straighter.
'Like I would actually get pregnant within 2 weeks without any help.' I smiled at him.
'You never know.' Luke shrugged, pressing his lips against mine.
The hand that had been drawing circles on my back was now placed on the side of my body.
His other hand finding its way to my other side as he carefully starting pushing me backwards until my back hit the mattress.
'Maybe we'll get lucky this time.' Luke said, before he started trailing kisses down my neck.
My arms wrapped around his bare shoulders and I quietly thanked the heavens above that he never bothered wearing a shirt unless he had to.
'I don't see it happening anytime soon though' I said, my voice so soft I was surprised he heard me in the first place.
Luke continued his kisses until he reached my collarbone.
'Maybe,' he started, pressing his lips back on mine 'it's not so much about what we see, but more about what we believe in.'
