'I think we should call a doctor. Just in case' Luke said, his phone in his hand, the doctors' number displayed on the screen.
'Luke, I told you I'm okay. You don't need to call a doctor' I said, taking his hand in mine.
'But it came back. I would've let it slide if it stayed with just the one time this morning but you basically had it all day' Luke argued, looking at our hands.
We were sitting in front of our tent, the other guys had disappeared to find some dinner.
'I think I just need to slow down a bit okay? You don't need to call a doctor for that'
It terrified me that this pain kept coming back I had been the one doing some research before we left and aching backs are completely normal. Pain in your belly is usually because you've been doing too much.
'Okay maybe you're right, but I'd like to hear it from a doctor' Luke said, pressing the call button and holding the phone against his ear.
I groaned and shook my head but leaned my head against his shoulders, trying to listen to the phone.
If there was something wrong I wanted to know just as much as he did.
After the phone rang 4 times, an assistant picked up and Luke pulled our hands in his lap while he explained what had been going on.
The assistant asked a few questions about what kind of pain it was, where the pain came from and if I had other problems except the pain in my stomach and I answered them all, explaining to Luke what the nurse needed to know.
It would've been a lot easier if I was calling but he didn't want to risk that I was going to keep things from him.
Which I could understand for the most part because he still thought the pain only showed up once that morning while it actually was twice.
The nurse explained some things to Luke that I didn't understand because she didn't talk loud enough for me to hear it. Luke hang up a couple minutes later and quietly put his phone back in his pocket.
'What did she say?' I asked, looking at him curiously.
Luke looked up at me, a scared, worried and a determined look in his eyes.
'She said to take it slow, but she meant really slow. Slow as in, no more moving unless you have to go pee slow' he said.
I frowned and looked at him.
'But it doesn't hurt that bad. It's not going to kill me if I walk up and down a field an extra time'
'It won't kill you no, but if you don't slow down, you'll be giving birth within the next couple of days and the chance that she will be developed enough to survive is almost non-existent because she's only 23 weeks old now. We worked so hard for this V, please promise me that you take it slow. Once it stops hurting you can start doing more again but for now please just let us do all the work okay?' Luke said, a pleading look in his eyes as he softly squeezed my hands.
I looked down at the grass we were sitting on.
'I didn't realize it was that serious' I mumbled.
Luke carefully pulled me in a hug.
'It's not that serious yet because the pain you're feeling now only shows up once every few hours but if that time is going to start decreasing it will become that serious and I think I can speak for the both of us when I say that we don't want to risk that'
I nodded and wrapped my arms around his waist.
'I'm sorry. Thank you for being stubborn and just calling the doctor anyway'
Luke grinned, pressing a kiss against the top of my head.
'You know me. Always a little stubborn and always a little worried'
I smiled and watched as the other guys came walking towards our tent with bags filled with food.
'WE HAVE FOOD PEOPLE!' Michael yelled, dumping the bags in front of us.
'All we need now is those plates' Calum said, looking at me since I had put them away last night.
'Oh, I dropped those in our tent last night. I'll go get them' I said, standing up but being pulled back by Luke.
'You're not going anywhere' he said sternly, getting up himself and disappearing inside the tent.
The guys looked at the tent, frowns covering their faces.
'What just happened?' Calum asked.
Luke crawled out of the tent, obviously having heard Calum's question.
'I called the doctor, she's not moving anymore unless she has to go to the restroom' he said, handing all of us a plate.
'The doctor didn't have to say anything good then?' Ashton guessed, handing me the bag of French fries so that I could get some on my plate.
'The doctor said she couldn't move unless she had to go pee' Luke said, smiling shortly at his friends.
We could see this was starting to drive him insane already.
He had been trying not to be too worried about me and the baby because I asked him and he knew he had nothing to worry about. Now he did have something to worry about and his mind was taking its change.
'It'll be okay' I said, 'I'll just take it slow and the pain will leave'
