'It was nice meeting you guys!' Steven smiled, showing of his dirty yellow teeth.
'It was nice to meet you too!' Luke replied, waving to the old man as we started walking back to civilisation.
We had left the monstera deliciousa, the candles, lighter and what was left of our drinks with the homeless man.
We wouldn't be needing them anymore and it was nice to give it to someone who could use it.
Our cab was waiting on the side of the road since it couldn't reach the cabin so we had to take a little walk.
'I can't believe this was the last stop on our roadtrip' I said as we had left the cabin behind us.
'I know, it's gone by way too fast.' Luke replied, leading us down the path that lead to the road. 'But the good news is that we still have our time off so we can do some fun things together. We should go visit that coffee shop again, and that lake we went to when we just arrived here after the New Zealand road trip'
We reached the cab and quickly got inside.
'We haven't been there since then have we?'
Luke shook his head 'At least I haven't. I don't know exactly what you've been doing when I was gone'
I smiled and rested my head against his shoulder. 'I haven't been there either'
The drive back to our hotel was short and once we arrived, we paid our driver before going inside.
'Do you think the guys are waiting up for us to come back?' I asked as Luke pressed the button on the elevator.
'Most likely' Luke grinned.
'What are we going to tell them?'
Luke looked at our intertwined hands and smiled 'Nothing we don't want to tell them'
We stepped inside the elevator and pressed the button to go to the third floor.
'I don't think we have to tell them anything. Our faces will probably tell them enough'
I smiled and nodded as we walked out of the elevator and to our door.
You could hear the guys laughing and talking to each other from across the hall. They were indeed waiting for us to come back.
'How did they get in our hotel room?' Luke frowned as we stopped walking in front of the door.
'With the key? I took the keys with me when I went to Ash's room last night. He probably stole it because I only have his room key.'
Luke nodded and looked at me before looking down at the floor and sitting down.
He leaned against the wall next to the door and patted the spot beside him, telling me to come sit down as well.
'Shouldn't we go inside?' I asked.
Luke took a hold of my hand again and placed it in my lap.
'Not yet. I want to have a little bit more time alone with you'
I nodded and tried to bite my smile.
We sat quietly, listening to the guys talking about some videogame Michael had bought today and what kind of weird person I was to buy a bright red bra that you would see through everything.
'I love that bra' Luke mumbled, making me laugh.
'Me too. You don't see it through everything. It totally depends on what I'm wearing on top of it'
Luke looked at me, subconsciously biting his lip ring.
'That's definitely a part of my downside list. That you know what you can wear it with without it showing through'
I grinned and shook my head. 'If I were to wear something that shows my bra even just a little bit I'm sure you'd tell me to change because you don't want anyone else enjoying what's yours'
Luke smiled and nodded, his eyes flickering from my eyes, to my lips and then back to my eyes.
On the other side of the wall, something fell to the ground with a loud noise followed by an even louder "Fuck!" from Michael.
'I think it's time to go back inside' I said as I stood up.
Luke got up as well and sighed.
I lifted my hand up to knock on the door when Luke stopped me.
Looking at him with a frown, he intertwined his fingers with mine before looking at my face.
He licked his lips and in one swift motion, he carefully placed his thumb and index finger around my chin and pressed his lips against mine.
Taken by surprise a little bit, it took me a second to realize what was happening and kiss him back.
But when I did, I forgot about the guys that were breaking down our hotel room and about the fact that we were standing in the middle of the hallway.
I forgot about the things we had been through in the last couple of days and could only focus on the kiss. On Luke. On his arms that wrapped themselves around my waist and my hands that had made their way to the nape of his neck.
I could vaguely hear a door open but didn't care enough to look up until I heard a loud "IT WORKED!"
