Today, Katie, Jennifer and Peter came to visit. "Caleb?" Jennifer asked as she heard someone coming down the stairs. "Yes?" Caleb asked. "Nothing. Will you join us?" Jennifer asked. "Later. I have to go see Mom and Dad first." Caleb said. "Why?" Andrew asked. "I have to look at something with them." Caleb said as he put on his shoes. "Can't this wait?" Katie asked. "Not really. It's about the Academy." Caleb said. "So, have you made up your mind?" Julian asked. Now everyone looked at Caleb. "Yes, I have." Caleb said after a moment's hesitation and a deep breath. "So, you're going to move to Dubai?" Layla asked. "Yes." Caleb said. "What kind of academy?" Aiko asked. "I got an offer for a scholarship at the International Soccer Academy in Dubai." Caleb explained. "Cool. Congratulations." Elyas said. "Yes. Thanks. So now I have to go to the station and go over some details with Mom and Dad." Caleb said. «Kiki. Me want see Dada, too." Lydia said, hugging Caleb's leg. "Me too." Hayden said, clutching the other leg. "Good. Put on shoes and jacket. I have to get my tablet and then we can go. Anyone else want to come?" Caleb asked. The others shook their heads, but the three puppies Spiky, Filou and Mocha sat in front of him, tails wagging. "Yes, I would have taken you three anyway." Caleb said. Aiko helped Hayden and Lydia get dressed and Caleb got his tablet and paperwork that Riccardo emailed him. "So, are you ready to go?" Caleb asked. "Yes." both said. "Let's go. See you later." Caleb said and put the three puppies on the leash. "See you later." Jennifer said. Lydia and Hayden were allowed to hold the puppies' leashes while Caleb walked alongside them.
In front of the station, they met a mother with her son, who was pulling a wooden dog on wheels. "Hi." Caleb greeted. "Hi. Maxi, look." the woman said and knelt down to her son. "Dodo." the little boy said. Caleb also knelt down and took the three puppies with him. "Are these all yours?" the woman asked. "Yes." Caleb said. "What's the name of the three of them?" the woman asked. "The husky pup is called Spiky; the Labrador pup is Filou and this little whirlwind here is called Mocha." Caleb said. Mocha excitedly jumped around the boy's toy dog and wants to play with him. "What breed is Mocha?" the woman asked. "He's an Australian Shepherd." Caleb said. "May we pet them?" the woman asked. "Of course. Spiky, Filou, Mocha, come over here." Caleb said. He sat the three down in front of him. Lydia and Hayden, meanwhile, shyly hid behind Caleb. After a few minutes, the woman and her son walked on. Caleb let the three puppies off the leash and the three ran straight for the station. In the vehicle hall, the men and women were busy making their vehicles ready for calls again. "Hey, what are you guys doing here?" Matt asked as the three puppies ran toward him. "Hey guys." Caleb said, who now came into the vehicle hall with Lydia and Hayden. "Daddy." Hayden said, running to Matt. "Hey, little man." Matt said, picking him up. "There should be Lydia somewhere, too." Caleb said, looking around. Then Pelham came around the corner with Lydia in his arms. "Is that her?" Pelham asked. "Yes." Caleb said. "Dada." Lydia said. "Not quite. Daddy's over there." Caleb said. Lydia shook her head wildly. "Lydia has made a decision. But you also look like you've made a decision." Herrmann said. Now everyone looked at Caleb. "Déjà vu." Caleb said. "Daddy, Caleb gone." Hayden said. "Oh man, Hayden." Caleb said. "Now leave Hayden alone. You've made up your mind?" Kelly asked. Caleb nodded. "And what did you choose?" Sylvie asked. Caleb leaned against Truck 81. "I've made the decision that I'm going to move to Dubai." Caleb said. "Have you decided on that?" Herrmann asked. Caleb took the papers out of his backpack. "I just need your signature." Caleb said, showing his dad the entry form. Kelly and Stella looked at the form. "Can I talk to you guys alone for a moment?" Caleb asked. "Yes of course. Let's go to my office." Kelly said. "You too." Caleb said. Matt handed Hayden to Violet and followed the others. Caleb sat down at Kelly's desk and unlocked his tablet. "There is an official app for the Academy. You can also download it. Then you can always find out what I'm up to." Caleb said and opened the chat. "This is Tyler Jacobs. He will be my personal advisor. Incidentally, he is also from Chicago himself, but has been living in Dubai for 10 years. If it suits you, he'd come over and talk to us and also to Mr. White and Mr. Chen about school and stuff." Caleb said, showing them a photo and his description. "Otherwise, we can make the call as soon as possible. Then you will know early enough what to do next." Kelly said. "Good, then I'll text him that he can come by when it suits him best. But he should report back beforehand, so that you are safe at home then." Caleb said. "Fine, do that." Stella said. Caleb texted his future personal advisor while the others reviewed the flyer. "Have you talked to your friends about it?" Matt asked. "They know the offer is open, but they don't know, or rather not yet, that I've finally made my decision." Caleb said. "I'm curious about the reaction." Kelly said. "Speaking of reactions." Caleb said when he saw Herrmann, Gallo, and Ritter. "Guys. Can I ask you a favor?" Caleb asked. "Yes of course. What's up?" Herrmann asked. "Can you please not tell Annabelle and you, your cousins about my decision. I'd like to tell them myself on Monday at school." Caleb said. "Hey. They won't find out anything from us." Gallo said and Herrmann and Ritter nodded in agreement. "Thanks." Caleb said. "What kind of Academy is this anyway?" Gallo asked. "The I.S.A. The International Soccer Academy. This is an international school where we are encouraged to play soccer and supported at school. And the students come from all over the world." Caleb explained. "That sounds exciting." Ritter said. "Caleb, you got an answer." Stella said. Caleb went back into the office and the others followed him. "Well. How do you feel about the decision?" Herrmann asked. "Of course, we will miss him. But we are also happy for him that he has the chance to develop further in sport." Kelly said. "Oh well. I will live in Dubai then. But I'm not cut off from the outside world. I can come home in the summer and over Christmas/New Year and I can also call or text regularly. Also, there's this app here so you can catch up on what's going on." Caleb said. "What app?" Gallo asked. "Here. This is the Academy's official app. Here you have all the information about players, game schedules, training schedules, etc." Caleb said, showing them the app on his tablet. "Who's Tyler?" Gallo asked. "He's my personal advisor." Caleb said, opening the chat. "Tyler is flying to Chicago tomorrow. He will land in Chicago tomorrow afternoon. Tuesday is your shift, right?" Caleb asked. "Yes." Kelly said after a moment's thought. "Good, then I'll write to him that we'll be home on Wednesday. I have classes until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday anyway." Caleb said. Caleb texted his supervisor again and then locked his tablet again. Then Truck 81, Squad 3 and the Ambulance 61 got a call. "I'm done here anyway." Caleb said. "Good. See you tomorrow. If you hear anything else or anything else, get in touch." Kelly said and gave his son a kiss on the head. "I'll do. See you tomorrow." Caleb said. Stella also gave him a kiss on the head and then went with the others to the vehicles. In the vehicle hall, Hayden sat in the engine 51 truck and Lydia was surrounded by the puppies and Tuesday. «So, you two. Ready to go home?" Caleb asked. "Otay." Hayden said. Pelham helped him out of the fire truck and Caleb put the puppies on a leash. "Me holding." Lydia said, reaching out for the leashes. Caleb handed her the leashes and Lydia ran off. "I'll put it that way. Luckily the puppies know not to be so wild with Lydia or even Hayden holding the leashes." Caleb said. "The three are well brought up. How old are the puppies anyway?" Pelham asked. "Spiky and Filou are one and a half years old. With Mocha we don't know exactly. I saved him from drowning. The vet said he could be between 5 and 7 months old. Says about 10 months old now." Caleb said. "What do you mean you saved him from drowning?" Pelham asked. "Oh well. I was on my way home from school when I saw a man throwing a gym bag into the river from the bridge. When he saw me, he ran away and I went down to see what he threw away. Yes, and when I opened the bag, Mocha was sitting in it." Caleb said. "I can't understand how people can be so cruel." Pelham said. "Everything went well. I have to go. They're already going the wrong way." Caleb said. "I'll see you." Herrmann said. "See you then." Caleb said, running to the others and just in time saving them from being run over by a bicyclist. "Be careful." the cyclist said, annoyed. "Bikes belong on the street, not the sidewalk." Caleb called after him. "Sorry Kayab." Hayden said. "That's fine. Are you alright?" Caleb asked, kneeling down next to the two. Hayden nodded and Lydia was on her way again, further in the wrong direction. "Lydi, you're wrong." Caleb said. Lydia turned to him and just looked at him. "Yes, come. That's the way home." Caleb said. Lydia didn't react and continued walking in the opposite direction. "You wait here." Caleb said, running after Lydia. He took the leashes from her and lifted her up. Hayden dutifully waited until Caleb was with him again. Caleb let Lydia down and gave her the leashes back.
As the three pulled into the driveway, an ambulance was parked at thefront door. "Whathappened?" Caleb asked concerned. "Katie'sgone into labor." Elyas said, standing by the door. "Ok. How'sshe doing?" Caleb asked. "She'sdoing according to the circumstances. Yourgrandma and Peter are going to take her to the hospital and Aiko is trying toreach your dad." Elyas said. "Thatcan be difficult. Theyhad to go on a call when we left." Caleb said. "Comein first. They'll let us know whenthere's news." Elyas said. "Hey,you three. How was it at thestation?" Aiko asked. "Good. OnWednesday, my personal advisor will come over and discuss everything with us."Caleb said. "That sounds good."Aiko said. "And what aboutAunt Katie?" Caleb asked. "She'sfine. She went intolabor." Aiko said. "Caleb. AuntKatie is having her baby." Layla and Kayla said excitedly. "Yes,I heard it." Caleb said. He letthe puppies off the leash and helped Lydia and Hayden take off their shoes andjacket. All the kids, Elyas andAiko sat in the living room, watched a movie and waited for news.
