The next morning, Caleb was woken up by Matt, Kelly and the two boys. Caleb, still half asleep, opened the door. "Good morning." Matt said. "Mhmm, morning." Caleb said. «Man, what you look like hell. Did you party all night?" Kelly asked, laughing. "I wish I were." Caleb said. "What's going on?" Matt asked. "I should be used to it, with jet lag and all, but it's kind of different this time." Caleb said. "How?" Kelly asked. "I didn't fall asleep until 2 a.m. and felt like I would wake up every 30 minutes and then just walk around the room for about 10 minutes." Caleb explained. "Then I already know which of us is sitting in the back of the plane." Kelly said. "Yes, please." Caleb said. "How long have you been up?" Matt asked. "What time is it?" Caleb asked. "A quarter past eight." Kelly said. "Then for 45 minutes." Caleb said. "I suggest we pack up your stuff and you wake up and get ready." Kelly said. "We want to help too." Matty and Benjamin said. "You know what, that's a very good idea. You guys pack up my stuff and I'll go back to sleep." Caleb said, crawling back under the covers. "It wasn't really intended that way." Kelly laughed. "I know." Caleb said, stretching and finally getting up. While Kelly, Matt and the boys packed up, Caleb went to the bathroom, washed his face, brushed his teeth and got dressed. After breakfast they checked out and went to the airport. After checking in and dropping off their luggage, they took the train to Central Station and from there walked to the lake. "Daddy, can we take a boat ride?" Layla asked, tugging at Matt's shirt. "Sure, why not." Matt said. The others agreed and Matt got the tickets. The boat trip took about an hour. Afterwards they walked a bit along the lake. For lunch they got something from a food stand and sat on the shore of the lake. In the afternoon they made their way back to the airport. They passed the time until boarding with travel games that Kayla had in her backpack and with small shopping trips. Caleb was skyping with his friend in Thailand. Boarding started at 10:20 p.m. and the plane took off punctually at 10:40 p.m. Caleb put on his headphones and turned on a movie, but he was so tired he fell asleep 2 minutes into the movie.
The next morning, Caleb woke up at 7am. He put on the headphones, turned on his favorite music and closed his eyes again. Suddenly, Caleb was awakened by constant poking. "What!?" Caleb asked. Next to him stood Benjamin and grinned at him. "What do you want?" Caleb asked, turning off the music. "May I sit with you?" Benjamin asked. "Sure. Come here." Caleb said, making some room for him. "Can we watch a movie?" Benjamin asked. "Yeah, which one do you want to watch?" Caleb asked. "Paw Patrol." Benjamin said. "Oh no. Please no. We've probably watched that movie a hundred times." Caleb said. His half-brother looked at him with big puppy eyes. «All right. I'm starting to regret giving you that look." Caleb smiled and plugged in his own headphones and gave one of the earbuds to Benjamin.
At 14:20 they landed at Bangkok International Airport. After collecting their luggage, they boarded a shuttle bus that drove them to their hotel. The Severide's and Casey's rooms were right next to each other. Caleb was settling into his part of the room when he got a text message. "Dad, Niran asked if we'd like to do a little tour tomorrow." Caleb called. "We can do something today, too." Kelly said. "He thought we were a bit exhausted from travel and jet lag, but I'll see if I can video call him." Caleb said. "I'll see if the others are ready." Stella said, going next door and knocking on the door. "Hey." Sylvie said as she opened the door. "Hey. Caleb is talking to his friend right now. He would show us around a bit tomorrow, but we thought we could do a little tour today, don't you think?" Stella asked. "Yeah, it's okay for us." Sylvie said and Matt nodded in the background while being attacked by his son. "I can see the little one likes it." Stella laughed. "Yes, he's really excited." Sylvie said. "I see." Stella said. "Hey." Caleb said. «Hey. So, what did your friend say?" Stella asked. «Question. What's going on with you guys?" Caleb asked. Meanwhile, Matt was being attacked by all of his children. "Kiddos come. Give Dad some breathing room." Sylvie said. The 3 kids got off their dad and ran around the room. "And what did your friend say?" Stella asked. "He's coming. He'll text me as soon as he gets here," Caleb said. "Mommy, I'm bored." Matty said, tugging at Sylvie's shirt. "We're going right away. We'll just wait for Caleb's friend and then we can go." Sylvie explained to her 4-year-old. "Guys, he's here. I'll go downstairs." Caleb called. "Good kids. Get ready. Let's go." Sylvie said and Stella went back to her room to help Kelly with the kids.
When Caleb came down, Niran was sitting in the lobby waiting area. "Hey, you alright?" Caleb asked, giving his buddy a high five. "I'm fine. You? How was the flight?" Niran asked. "Uh, don't ask." Caleb said, sitting down. "How so? Was it that bad?" Niran asked with an amused smile. "Worse." Caleb said. «Oh, come on. It can't have been that bad." Niran said. "It's easy for you to talk. You have a twin sister and a sister who is 'only' 2 years younger than you. My half-brother is 5 and my half-sister is just 1 year old." Caleb said. "They never were on a plane before?" Niran asked and Caleb shook his head. «Yes good. Then of course I understand. But you didn't fly directly, didn't you?" Niran asked. "No, we had a stopover in Zurich and spent 2 days and 1 night there." Caleb explained. "I know. Noah wrote me." Niran grinned. "Then why did you ask?" Caleb asked, putting a friendly box on his shoulder. When the others finally came down, Caleb introduced everyone and they made their way downtown. "I have to tell you my mom would like to invite you to dinner tonight. Of course, only if you want too." Niran said. "Thanks. That is very nice. We'd love to come." Stella said and the others agreed. Niran showed them all the sights and also some of his favorite spots. After the tour, they went to Niran's home, where Niran's parents have already prepared dinner. There were many traditional dishes. After dinner the adults sat on the porch and talked. Lydia lay asleep in her stroller, the little ones played in the garden with Niran's youngest sister, Nattida, and Caleb, Niran, and his twin sister, Narisara, played soccer in the driveway. "Daddy, I'm tired." Matty said, climbing onto Matt's lap. "Me too." Benjamin said, doing the same to Kelly. "Yeah, I think we need to get back to the hotel then." Kelly said. «Girls, come on. We want to go back to the hotel." Sylvie called. «K, come on. We want to go back." Stella called. Caleb said goodbye to his friends and Niran's father drove them back to the hotel.
