"Who were the two boys yesterday?" Andrew asked as they sat together at the breakfast table the next morning. "I played with Michael and Jason in the Chicago Fire SC U14 before we were put on the reserve bench and then we quit." Caleb said. "And you played in the same position?" Julian asked. "Yes, we harmonized well." Caleb said. "Daddy, what are we doing today?" Layla asked. "I don't know. What do you want to do?" Matt asked. "Park." the kids shouted. "What about you three?" Stella asked. "Can we do an escape room?" Andrew asked. "Yes, please. Are we allowed?" Julian asked. "Yes. There's one across from Grant Park." Caleb said. "Why not. Then check later if there are still free places." Kelly said. After breakfast they cleaned up the kitchen together. "Now I'll see if there are any free spots." Caleb said and went upstairs. "Please remember to call Tyler back." Stella called after him. "Yeah, I'll do it later." Caleb called from upstairs. He went to his room and started the laptop. "And? Found anything yet?" Andrew asked, who now came into the room with Julian. "Yes, but only for late evenings and no early games for the next four weeks." Caleb said. "Everything is fully booked for the next four weeks?!" Julian asked, horrified. "Yes. But remember. It's summer vacation and there are a lot of tourists in town." Caleb said. "Then maybe another time." Julian said. Andrew and Julian went back downstairs and Caleb called Tyler.
Phone call between Caleb and Tyler: "Tyler Jacobs." Tyler said. "Hi Ty. It's Caleb. You called yesterday?" Caleb asked. "Hello Caleb. Yeah right. How are you?" Tyler asked. "Pretty good, thank you. I came home from New York yesterday. I visited friends there." Caleb said. "Cool. It's nice to hear that you're enjoying time with your friends and family." Tyler said. "Yes, I do." Caleb said. "Very nice. But now to the reason why I called. I have some more information for you. First. I don't know if you already heard, but there are two more players coming from Chicago." Tyler said. "Yeah, they told me." Caleb said. "Oh, you know them both?" Tyler asked. "Yes, we played in the club together. We've known each other for about 11 years." Caleb said. "Cool. Secondly. You are allowed a total of 4-5 pieces of luggage and 3-4 pieces of hand luggage." Tyler said. "Are you serious?!" Caleb asked incredulously. "Yes. I know how that sounds now, but there is a simple reason for it. The plane to Zurich is still almost empty and it doesn't seem like anything will change." Tyler said. "Ok. Cool. Then I don't have to play Tetris." Caleb laughed. "And finally. I already have the info on who your roommates will be." Tyler said. "Ok. Can you also tell me who, or is that still a secret?" Caleb asked. "No of course not. Do you want to know?" Tyler asked. "Yes, please." Caleb said. "So. There's Josh from England, Felix from Germany, Pedro from Brazil, Carlos from Spain and Emiliano from Mexico." Tyler said. "Cool. Very international." Caleb said. "Yes. We made sure that those who speak the same language weren't in the same room, but it wasn't that easy." Tyler said. "Okay, but I think that's cool. That way we can learn from each other." Caleb said. "That's exactly the idea behind it." Tyler said. "Cool, I'm looking forward to it." Caleb said. "That would be everything from my side. Do you have anything else that's on your mind?" Tyler asked. "I wanted to ask you something, but I forgot the question. But I know how I can reach you if I remember it." Caleb said. "Exactly. Then we'll see each other soon." Tyler said. "Yes. See you soon." Caleb said and hung up.
"Caleb, let's go." Andrew said, who was now standing in thedoorway. "Yes, I'm coming."Caleb said and went downstairs with Andrew. "Whattook you so long?" Matty asked, very impatient. "I'msorry, but I was on the phone with Tyler." Caleb said, knocking Matty's baseballcap down. Matty looked at hisparents through the crack of his baseball cap. "And? Whatdid he say?" Sylvie asked, adjusting Matty's cap again. "Notmuch, just that the plane is still almost empty and I can therefore take moreluggage with me and he also told me who and where my roommates come from."Caleb said and put on his shoes. "Ok. Nowit's getting exciting. Whereare your roommates from?" Stella asked. "FromEngland, Germany, Mexico, Brazil and Spain." Caleb said. "Cool. Do youknow what their names are?" Aiko asked. "Josh,Felix, Pedro, Emiliano and Carlos." Caleb said. "Canwe go now?" Layla asked, very impatient. "Yes, let'sgo. I'll tell you in thepark." Caleb said. Thekids got their bikes, scooters and skateboards from the garage and then set offtogether to the park. Calebfell behind a bit because his skateboard caught on a pebble. AsCaleb rejoined the others, he held on to his uncle's T-shirt. "Whatare you planning to do?" Matt asked. "Nothingat all. I just don't want tofall back anymore, so I'm just going to hold on to you now." Caleb said. Matttook Caleb's hand and, with a bit of momentum, pulled from back to front. "Can Ihave the leashes?" Caleb asked when he came to a stop again. "Here."Elyas said and handed him the leashes. Calebsat on the board. "Now,run." Caleb said. Butthe 3 puppies only sniffed the board or tried to get on the board. "Comeon. Run." Caleb repeated. "Itdoesn't look like they want to drag you." Kelly said. "Notreally. Here." Caleb said, handing Kelly the leashes. Caleband Kelly caught up again and Caleb put his skateboard in the bottom of thestroller. They found a free spotin Grant Park and spread out their blankets. Kellyset up the umbrellas and Matt and Caleb put together the beach shelters. "So,what do you want to do?" Sylvie asked and put Jason on the blanket. "Canwe play with the Frisbee?" Kayla asked. "Yes,of course. It's in the bag."Sylvie said. "Mommy playground."Hayden said. "Yes, playground." Mattyand Levi called out. "Metoo." Benjamin said. "We'llgo with them." Elyas said. "Thankyou." Stella said and placed the twins on the blanket next to Jason. The 4boys ran ahead and Aiko and Elyas followed them. "Andwhat do you want to do?" Sylvie asked, the three older ones. "Relax."Caleb said and lay down on the meadow. "Nowtell me. What did Tylersay?" Stella asked. Calebturned around. "So. Accordingto Tyler, the flight from Chicago to Zurich is still almost empty and itdoesn't seem like that will change much in the next two and a half months. That'swhy I'm allowed to take 4-5 suitcases and 3-4 pieces of hand luggage with me."Caleb said. "That's great. Then Isuggest we get new suitcases next." Kelly said. "Caleb, are we playing giant Uno?" Julian asked. "Yes,come on...Mom can you please hold Spiky, Filou and Mocha back? Otherwise, they will destroy our play again, like last time." Caleb said. "Idon't think that will be necessary." Stella said and pointed to the 3puppies who were lying in the beach shelter and dozing. Whilethe kids were all busy, Kelly and Matt set up the travel grill and grilledsausages and hamburgers. "Comeon. Lunch is ready." Sylviecalled out. The kids sat on theblankets or in the beach shelter and Kelly and Matt brought the food. "Thanks,Daddy." Benjamin said. Kellyruffled his hair and sat next to him. Caleb,Andrew and Julian sat with their backs to the others and fed the puppies. "Guys, don't feed too much. Youknow that." Stella said. "Yeah, otherwise they'll get fat." Matty said. "Itwas the last one anyway." Caleb said. "Dad,can I have another sausage please?" Julian asked. "Ofcourse. There you go." Mattsaid. "Caleb, do you wantanother Sweet corn on the cob?" Kelly asked. "Yes,please." Caleb said, holding out his plate. After lunch, the younger kids went to the playground with Aiko again. Andrewand Caleb helped Kelly and Matt clean up everything and Stella, Sylvie, Aikoand Julian went for a walk with the babies and Lydia. Theydrove home again late in the afternoon. "Dad,can I go to the mall again tomorrow and buy my new school supplies?" Calebasked. "Sure." Kellysaid. "Caleb. Areyou going to play soccer with us outside in the garden?" Julian asked. "If you really want to lose again." Calebscoffed and went outside with him. They made a salad for dinner and watchedmovies afterwards.
