When Kelly, Stella, Sylvie and Matt got home the next morning, everyone was already awake. "Mommy. Daddy." Matty called out. "Hey buddy." Matt said, picking him up. Then Layla and Kayla came running down the stairs. "Mommy. Daddy." the girls said and hugged their parents from behind. "Hey girls. How was your day?" Sylvie asked. "Very nice." Layla said. "Did you have fun?" Stella asked. "Mommy. Daddy." Benjamin called, running up from the basement. "Hey little man." Kelly said, picking him up. "Where are the big ones?" Sylvie asked. "Here." Caleb said, coming up from the basement with Andrew, Julian, and Levi. "Benny, you have to put away your toys." Levi said. Kelly lowered Benny back down and Benny went downstairs to the basement. "Great. Yesterday I had to remind him about 5 times to put his toys away." Caleb said and walked into the kitchen. "Your school bag is still in the trunk, too." Kelly said. "Oh yeah. Thanks Dad." Caleb said, getting the car keys and going into the garage. He took his school bag and his briefcase upstairs to his room. "Have you had breakfast yet?" Sylvie asked. "No. They wanted to wait for you to come." Aiko said. "All right then. Shall we go outside in the garden?" Stella asked. "Yes." Layla and Kayla said. "All right then. But then everyone has to help." Matt said. "Caleb. Can you go downstairs and get the cereal, milk and the fruit juices?" Kelly asked. "Yes of course. What cereal do you want?" Caleb asked. "Take the boxes you've started first. Otherwise, we'll end up with a hundred boxes of cornflakes that we've started and we'll lose track of things at some point." Matt said. "Ok." Caleb said and went downstairs. He took a box from the stack and packed the cornflakes boxes, the milk and the fruit juices in it and went back upstairs. Outside in the garden he put the box on the bench and unpacked everything. Then he put the box on the meadow and sat down. "And. What did you guys do yesterday?" Stella asked. "We were in the park." Levi said. "And then we went to the aquarium." Benjamin said. "That too." Kelly marveled. "And you? What did you do?" Sylvie asked. "First we went to the botanical garden and then we went to the aquarium, too." Julian said. "After the aquarium we got an ice cream and then walked along the river bank." Andrew said. "Then you had a great start to the summer, didn't you?" Matt asked and the kids nodded. After breakfast, everyone helped clean up. "Me drive Kiki." Lydia said, who was sitting in the box. "Does that even work in the meadow?" Caleb asked, trying to push Lydia. Caleb pushed Lydia back and forth a couple of times. Suddenly Lydia sneezed and hit her head on the edge. Caleb picked her up and Stella came out to see what was going on. "What have you guys done?" Stella asked. "Lydia sneezed and hit her head on the edge." Caleb said. Stella took Lydia to her. Caleb packed up the cereal boxes and went down to the basement. When he came up again, Andrew and Julian were getting ready. "Where are you going?" Caleb asked. "To the mall." Andrew said. "Now. I thought in the afternoon. I'll get the list quickly and we can go." Caleb said. Caleb got the grocery list and went back downstairs. "So. Are you ready?" Kelly asked. "Yeah, right now." Caleb said as he tied his shoes. "Have fun, then." Stella said. "Thanks." the boys said and went to the car. Kelly and Matt gave their wives a kiss and then got in the car too. "So how was your last day of school yesterday?" Matt asked his two adopted sons. "It's perfectly alright. We cleaned up a bit and disposed of the things we no longer need for the next school year." Julian said. "Dad. Can I go to the pool with my friends?" Andrew asked. "Of course. Whenever you want." Matt said.

When they got to the mall, Kelly parked the car and they got out. "Well, let's see what's in store for us then." Matt said in front of the entrance to the mall. Caleb gave him the shopping list. "Good. I suggest we take care of the garden today, which means we go to the garden center first and see what we need for the beds." Kelly said. "Okay." the boys said. Matt and Andrew each got a shopping cart and they went inside. At the garden center, Matt and Kelly took a look around. "I suggest we see what herbs we want first." Kelly said. "Then we have to go this way." Julian said, pointing to the label. "Shall we use the traditional kitchen herbs?" Andrew asked. "I think so." Caleb said. "All right then. Then take what you need." Matt said. The three boys looked around at the herbs. "Well, certainly parsley, chives, and basil." Caleb said, putting the pots of herbs in the cart. "What about mint and lemon balm?" Andrew asked. The boys looked at Kelly and Matt. "Put it in." Matt said. The boys decided on rosemary, thyme and oregano. Kelly and Matt looked for the right garden soil while the boys decided on berry seeds. "What about veggies. I thought you guys were going to grow veggies, too." Matt said. "Yeah, but we wanted to wait until you guys were ready because the other seeds are over there." Andrew said. "Come on then." Kelly said. "I'm for picking the vegetables that are least eaten at home." Caleb said. Andrew and Julian looked at each other briefly. "Broccoli and cauliflower." the two said at the same time. Kelly and Matt smiled and Caleb placed a packet each of broccoli and cauliflower seeds in the cart. "What else do you need?" Kelly asked. Caleb studied the list and crossed off everything they have so far. "We need another watering can." Andrew said. "Right. We almost forgot." Julian said. Caleb looked around. "Over there." Andrew said and the 3 boys went to the shelves with the watering cans. "What do you think. Which of the three will open their own nursery in the future?" Kelly asked. "You only believe one of them. I say they open the nursery together." Matt said. "So. Now I think we've got it all." Andrew said. Caleb put the watering can and Julian a few more gardening tools in the shopping cart. "Are you sure?" Kelly asked. The boys looked at the two shopping carts. "Yes. We have everything." Julian said. Caleb and Andrew looked around the garden center and considered. "I know. We still need garden beds." Andrew said. "The candidate gets 100 points." Matt said. "And where are they?" Julian asked. "Let's have a look over there." Caleb said. They found the garden beds at the end of the center. "Which ones do we use and how many do we actually need?" Andrew asked. "I think they look cool. They look like stairs." Julian said. Caleb counted the plants and seeds they had. "I think 2 is enough, right?" Caleb asked. "I think so too." Matt said. The boys put 2 boxes with the beets on the shelf of the shopping cart. "So, do we need anything else?" Andrew asked. "I think we've got it all now." Caleb said. "I think so too. Let's go then." Kelly said. They paid and loaded everything into the trunk of the van.

At home, Aiko and Elyas helped carry everythingto the garden. "Caleb. Tyler was here and dropped off a package foryou." Stella said. "A package?" Caleb asked. "Yes. It's onthe kitchen counter." Stella said. After everything was carried into thegarden, Caleb got the package from the kitchen and brought it into the livingroom. "Open Kayab." Hayden said. "I'm trying, but I needscissors." Caleb said, walking into the kitchen. He got the scissors fromthe kitchen drawer and went back into the living room. Caleb opened the packageand then didn't know where to put the scissors. "Ok. There are too many kidshere." Caleb said. "Give them to me. I'll take them back again."Aiko said. Caleb waited a moment until Aiko was back and then opened thepackage. "Ah. My future soccer gear." Caleb said. "Show me."Julian said. Caleb rummaged through the box and pulled out a jersey wrapped inplastic. Caleb unpacked the jersey and held it in front of his body. "Thatlooks great. I think the color fits, too." Stella said. Thejersey was dark blue with neon green horizontal stripes. "Show me the back." Sylvie said.Caleb turned the jersey over. Printed on the back was a large 51 and above itwas capitalized 'C. SEVERIDE'. "Cool." Andrew marveled. Caleb put thejersey on the coffee table and continued rummaging through the box. The boxcontained all of the soccer equipment. Then he pulled out another piece ofpaper. "Hello Caleb. With this package you get your equipment. I askyou to try everything on and if something doesn't fit you, let me know so wecan order the new size before we fly to Dubai. If you have any furtherquestions, you can write to me at any time. I wish you a nice summer and enjoythe time with your family and friends. See you soon. Tyler." Caleb readout. "So, then try everything on." Stella said. Caleb threw everythingback into the box and took it upstairs to his room. Caleb was trying on hismatchday gear when Kelly walked into the room. "And? Is everythingokay?" Kelly asked. "Till now, yes. How do I look?" Caleb asked, standing in the middle of the room. "You look really great. What else didyou get?" Kelly asked, sitting on the couch. Caleb rummaged in the box."Long training clothes in case we train in an area where it's a bitcooler. Then, logically, short training dresses. Winter underwear. And um, no,that's it." Caleb said and changed his clothes again. "Gym bag?"Kelly asked. "Oh yeah. Right. Sorry. Here." Caleb said, showing him thebag and backpack. "Inter United." Kelly read. "Yes. That's ourname." Caleb said. "Cool." Kelly said. "Did you actuallywant something?" Caleb asked, straightening his shirt. "We wouldstart building the beds now." Kelly said. "Cool.
