"Hey boys. Everything okay?” Maggie asked as Kelly and Caleb walked into the ER. "We have an appointment with Dr. Charles." Kelly said. “He's already let me know. You can go up. He's waiting for you.” Maggie said. "Thanks, Maggs." Kelly said. Maggie watched them both go. "I feel kind of sorry for Caleb." Doris said, now standing next to her. "Yeah, he's going through a lot right now." Maggie said. Kelly knocked on Dr. Charles office door and entered. "Hey boys. Come in." Dr. Charles said. "Hey Daniel. Thanks for taking the time.” Kelly said. "Sure. You sounded pretty desperate on the phone, so I figured it must be something more serious." Dr. Charles said. "Yes. We're worried about Caleb. Since Sunday he has changed and has completely withdrawn.” Kelly explained. "It's been longer than Sunday." Caleb said quietly. "What do you think if we talk privately first?" Dr. Charles suggested. "I'll get myself a coffee and wait in the canteen downstairs." Kelly said and left the office. "I don't know what's wrong with me?" Caleb said. "What do you mean?" Dr. Charles asked. “Everything has been spinning in my head for a few weeks. I can’t sleep anymore. I'm not hungry anymore and I just can't get excited about anything anymore. Not even for soccer.” Caleb explained. "And what was yesterday?" Dr. Charles asked. "I don’t know. It's been shut down since yesterday.” Caleb said. "But that's not all. Am I right?" Dr. Charles asked. Caleb shook his head. "I promise you. Nobody will know anything from this conversation. Not even your dad." Dr. Charles said. "It's just too much at the moment. Stella and Sylvie are both pregnant, the 4 boys who have been living with us for a few weeks now, I'm in high school, training isn't going as well as it should and I just don't feel like it anymore." Caleb said, burying his face in his hands. "You're scared, aren't you?” Dr. Charles asked. Caleb nodded. "What could be done to make you feel better?" Dr. Charles asked. Caleb just shrugged. "May I ask you a question?" Dr. Charles asked. "What?" Caleb asked, wiping tears from his face. "What's your mother's role in all this?" Dr. Charles asked. Caleb looked at him and knew exactly what Dr. Charles thought. "She's been stalking me in front of school for the past two weeks." Caleb said. "And why?" Dr. Charles asked. “She wants me to come back to her. She even threatened me that if I tell Dad or anyone else, she'll put me in an Orphan home." Caleb said. Dr. Charles took notes. "Are you going to tell Dad about this?" Caleb asked. "No. Only if you give me permission. But I can talk to him about what might help you to feel more comfortable." Dr. Charles said. "Would you really do that?" Caleb asked. "Yes. Of course." Dr. Charles said. "Ok. Thanks." Caleb said. "Shall we go then?" Dr. Charles asked and Caleb nodded.

Kelly was sitting in the canteen drinking coffee and typing on his phone. "Hey Dad." Caleb said. “Hey. Are you done already?" Kelly asked. "Yes, but I'd like to talk to you for a moment." Dr. Charles said. "Um, yes, of course." Kelly said. Caleb sat down at the table and Kelly gave him money to buy himself something to drink.

"And? Did he talk to you?" Kelly asked. "He did, but you have to understand that I'm not allowed to tell you anything." Dr. Charles said. "Yes, I know. What did you want to talk to me about?" Kelly asked. "I'd like to talk to you about what can be done to make Caleb feel more comfortable at home." Dr. Charles said. "Okay." Kelly said. “Do you actually do something in pairs or threes? So, I mean Caleb and you or also Stella, Caleb and you?" Dr. Charles asked. “Since the little ones are born unfortunately not so often. Could that have been the trigger, especially now that babies are on the way again?” Kelly asked. "I can't say 100%, but it could be. At least, one of the reasons he withdrew." Dr. Charles said. "What do you recommend now?" Kelly asked. "Very easily. Do something with him. Maybe the two or three of you go to the cinema, have dinner with him or maybe you just go watch his training. I can imagine that with so many children, it's not always easy to do justice to everyone, but try. It will certainly help his well-being." Dr. Charles said. "We're definitely going to do that." Kelly said. “Now take your time to sort things out. If you need advice or would like to talk again, you can call at any time." Dr. Charles said. "Thanks Daniel. I really appreciate that." Kelly said. "Of course." Dr. Charles said. Kelly said goodbye and went home with Caleb.
