A few weeks later, Caleb met his friends Nigeland Blake at Grant Park. "Have you received the new class list yet? I thinkit's really great that we're all back in the same class." Nigel said.«Huh? What are you talking about?" Caleb asked. "Well, about the newschool year? Haven't you gotten anything yet?" Nigel asked. "Yes, I did,but when we got back from Thailand and it said my classroom will be acrosscampus and none of you will be in my class." Caleb said, pulling out hiscell phone. "What are you up to?" Blake asked. "I'll call homeand see if there's another letter." Caleb said. Nigel and Blake looked ateach other and shrugged their shoulders. "Hey Dad, it's me. Question, didI get another letter?... Okay... I'll explain when I get home. See youlater." Caleb said and hung up. "And?" Blake asked."Nothing, no new letter for me." Caleb said. "Funny, maybe therewas a mix-up and you got someone else's papers." Nigel said. "It'spossible. I mean, I don't even know the names on the class list. But it's kindof weird that it's always with me." Caleb said. "What do youmean?" Nigel asked. "Well, I was on sick leave for the last few weeksbefore summer vacation and was just homeschooling." Caleb said."Yeah, so what?" Blake asked. "They didn't send me the adjustedtask list back then, they sent me the official schedule." Caleb explained."Oh man." Nigel said, shaking his head. When Caleb got home, theadults were sitting at the kitchen table in front of their laptops. "Hey,what are you doing?" Caleb asked, getting a water from the fridge."Nothing important. So why did you ask for a letter again?" Kellyasked. "Nigel and Blake said we're all back in the same class. But according tomy records, I'm in a new class." Caleb said, joining them at the kitchen table."Somehow I have a feeling there's always some mix-up with you." Mattsaid. "Yes, and I have my suspicions too. There is a boy at our school whoselast name is 'Severine'. Maybe he got my list and I got his. If this continues,I'll change my last name to 'Kidd'." Caleb said. "Well that explainsa lot." Matt laughed. "Yes, but now to you. What are you looking at?"Caleb asked, turning the laptop toward him. "That's none of yourbusiness." Sylvie said and took the laptop away from him. "You look atapartment ads? Are we moving?" Caleb asked. "Like I said, you don'thave to worry about that just yet." Stella said. «All right. All I know isthat last time we moved, Aunt Sylvie was pregnant with the twins." Caleb said, realizing immediately what must be going on.
