The next morning Caleb was woken up early. "There are better things than getting up at 6 a.m. during the holidays." Caleb said and stretched. "Come on. Rise and Shine. We leave at about half past seven. Do you want some breakfast?" Kelly asked. "No. "I'll get something at the airport." Caleb said and stood up. "Good. Then get dressed and come downstairs." Kelly said. "Ay Ay, Lieutenant." Caleb said, rummaging through his closet. Kelly smiled, shaking his head, and left the room. Caleb got dressed and packed the charging cables and his tablet into his backpack and checked his phone. "So, what is that? You have been added to a new WhatsApp group. And I have 150 new messages." Caleb muttered to himself. He unlocked his phone and opened WhatsApp. "Cool. 'Inter United'. And what does Tyler write?" Caleb asked himself and opened the chat. "Hello Caleb. As you may have already seen, there is now an Inter United group chat. In this chat you can introduce yourself and then arrange meetings later or keep up to date during the holidays. Introduce yourself in the chat and get to know your future teammates. If you want, also with a photo. Now I wish you a nice and relaxing holiday and see you soon. Greetings Tyler." Caleb smiled, put his phone in his pocket, grabbed his backpack and jacket and went downstairs. "Good morning, Caleb." Matt said. "Morning." Caleb said, putting down his backpack. "Do you have everything? Airline ticket, passport, etc.?" Stella asked. "Yeah, everything in my backpack." Caleb said, pulling out his phone. "Look. We now have a group chat on WhatsApp." Caleb said and showed them the chat. "That's great." Sylvie said. "You have a lot to read there, as I see." Kelly said. "I know. I have two hours on the plane." Caleb said and put his phone back in his pocket. They left the house at half past seven and drove to the airport.

When they arrived at the airport, Matt parked in one of the parking garages. Caleb opened the trunk and pulled out his suitcase and backpack. While Caleb checked in his luggage at the check-in counter, the others waited in the waiting hall. "It's kind of weird to know that Caleb is moving out in a few months." Stella said. "It's not much different than before. He used to just be away in the summer. Now he'll just be home for Christmas/New Year and the summer." Matt said. "Well, I'm done." Caleb said as he joined them again. "And? Is everything okay?" Kelly asked. "Yes." Caleb said. "Do you already know which gate you have to go to?" Sylvie asked. "No, that won't be announced until 8:20 a.m." Caleb said. "Okay, then do you want to go?" Kelly asked. "Yes, I think that will be the best. There will be quite a queue at security. Besides, your shift starts in 30 minutes." Caleb said. Stella, Kelly, Sylvie and Matt accompanied Caleb to the entrance to the security checkpoint. "Then we wish you a good flight and let us know when you landed." Stella said and hugged him. "I'll do. And you guys be careful." Caleb said. Caleb said goodbye to everyone and walked through the entrance to security. After security, Caleb grabbed something to eat and drink, sat on an empty row of benches and read the messages from the group chat. After a 2-hour flight, Caleb landed on time at JFK in New York.

At the firehouse, the men and women have just returned from a call. "How did your boys feel after the storm?" Ritter asked. "Quite good. Caleb flew to New York today and Andrew and Julian are feeling better too. Yesterday they had a bit of a sore throat, cough and were hoarse. But they were feeling better again last night." Stella said. "So, when exactly is Caleb flying to Dubai?" Cruz asked. "September 30th." Kelly said. "It sounds like it's going to take a while, but it's still 'only' 11 weeks left." Cruz said.

Meanwhile in New York:

"Mommy. He's landed." Jamiro shouted excitedly. "Good. Then he'll come out soon." Susanne said. Jamiro and Luian waited impatiently at the barrier where the arriving travelers came out. "Mom, he's coming." Luian said. "Hey guys." Caleb greeted and gave them both a high five. "Hi Caleb. Did you have a good flight?" Susanne asked and hugged Caleb. "Hi Susanne. Yes. I had. A little early, but everything went well." Caleb said. "That's good. Unfortunately, Aaron had to go to work at short notice because a colleague was absent. He should be back home this afternoon so we can show you New York." Susanne said on the way to the parking garage. "That sounds good. Have you settled in well so far?" Caleb asked. "Yes. Considering we've only been here for the second week, we're getting along pretty well." Susanne said. "You can sit in the front." Jamiro said. "All right." Caleb said, putting his backpack and suitcase in the trunk and sitting in the passenger seat. "So, how do you two like New York?" Caleb asked. "It's a little more hectic than Chicago, but no different than Brazil." Luian said. "That's true." Caleb said. "Have you ever been to New York?" Susanne asked. "Yes, a few times. But only for sporting reasons." Caleb said. "Have you ever been to Brazil?" Luian asked. "I was once. Also for soccer reasons." Caleb said. When they pulled into the driveway, Aaron's company car was already in the garage. "Daddy is home." Jamiro said. Susanne parked the car in the driveway. They got out, Caleb got his suitcase out of the trunk and went in with the others. "Daddy, we're here." Luian called. "Hey." Aaron said and hugged Jamiro and Luian. "Hey Caleb. Did you have a pleasant flight?" Aaron asked. "Yes, thank you." Caleb said. "Come sit down. Do you want to drink something? We have 7up, Cola, apple juice, Fanta... but you can also have water." Susanne said. "7up, please." Caleb said and sat down. "Do you want cherry flavor or the classic one?" Susanne asked. "Cherry flavored, please." Caleb said. "Boys, do you want something to drink too?" Susanne asked as she brought Caleb his drink. "Coke, please." Luian said. "A Fanta for me, please." Jamiro said. Susanne brought the boys the drinks and then sat down. "Then tell us Caleb, what's new from Chicago?" Aaron asked. "Oh, not much actually. We had a pretty heavy thunderstorm on the night from Saturday to yesterday." Caleb said. "Yes, we heard about that. The youth festival was from Thursday to yesterday, right?" Aaron asked. "Exactly, my friends, Andy, Juli and I were there. Dad and Uncle Matt picked us up in the middle of the night." Caleb said. "But nothing happened to you, right?" Susanne asked. "No, just got a little wet, but other than that nothing happened." Caleb said. "Then that's good. And otherwise? How are the preparations going for your move to Dubai?" Aaron asked. "At the moment it's actually still possible, because despite everything there are still about 13 weeks until then. But Dad said as soon as I got home, we'd go on our first shopping trip." said Caleb. "How are things going at home? You also have two au pairs with you, right?" Aaron asked. "Things are going really well at home. Aiko and Elyas, the two au pairs, are really great. They take care of the little ones, they make really delicious food and they also do a lot with us." Caleb said. "That sounds good." Susanne said. "Yes. The two of them have now flown to their families for two weeks." Caleb said. "Where are they from?" Aaron asked. "Aiko is from Tokyo, Japan and Elyas is from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia." Caleb said. "Then the two of them also cook dishes from their homeland?" Susanne asked. "Yes, from time to time. But they have also put together a whole folder with different recipes. It really has everything in there." Caleb said. "Cool. Speaking of everything is included. What do you think of Asian for dinner? We know a very good Chinese restaurant in Chinatown." Susanne said. "Yes, of course. Why not. I love Asian cuisine." Caleb said. "Okay, then that's settled. And what do we do until then?" Aaron asked. "We were thinking of showing Caleb a little bit of New York. He was already here, but only to play soccer." Susanne said. "Well then. Shall we go straight away?" Aaron asked. "We can." Caleb said. "All right. You can leave your suitcase here." Susanne said. They got in the car and drove downtown. Aaron drove into a parking garage and parked the car. "What do you want to see first?" Aaron asked. "I don't know." Caleb said. "We can just walk around a little." Susanne said. "I think that's good." Caleb said. "Then let's go." Luian said, very impatient. "Do you want to buy things here that you can take with you to Dubai?" Jamiro asked. "I can see what we find. I don't even know what my room looks like or what hanging options I have." Caleb said. "Can't you ask that?" Luian asked. "I can. Should I?" Caleb asked. "Yes, then we'll know and we can see what we find over the course of the week." Susanne said. "And the two of them are quiet." Aaron laughed. "Good. Then I'll write a WhatsApp message to my supervisor." Caleb said, took out his phone and wrote Tyler a short message. Less than 2 minutes later Tyler's answer came. "Wow, that was quick." Caleb said. "So, what does he write?" Aaron asked. "I will be in a 6-bed room and I have enough space to hang photos. In addition, everyone has a huge magnetic wall at their disposal." Caleb said. "Good, then we now know that there are a lot of magnets for you and also a lot of souvenir photos." Susanne said. They spent the afternoon in downtown Manhattan and went to Chinatown for dinner in the evening.
