Chapter 3

After Kelly signed the discharge papers, they drove home. "Are you hungry?" Kelly asked. "A little." Caleb said. "Hey, Caleb, look at me. Promise me that from now on you will always tell me if anything is bothering you." Kelly said, putting his hand on Caleb's shoulder. "Yes dad. I promise." Caleb said.

At home, Sylvie and Stella prepared dinner while Matt and the boys redecorate and refill the aquarium. "Boys, they're coming." Sylvie called. Matty and Benjamin ran downstairs. "And what did Connor say?" Stella asked. "Caleb is showing signs of exhaustion. Connor has now put him on sick leave for the rest of the school year." Kelly explained. "Hey, how are you?" Matt asked, coming downstairs too. "I feel like Truck 81 and the Squad 3 hit me at the same time." Caleb said, trying to take off his shoes. "Do you need help?" Kelly asked. "Yes, please." Caleb said. "By the way, we called Cindy. She'll come and take care of you guys' tomorrow." Stella said. "Okay." Caleb said. 'Dinner will be ready soon. Are you hungry?" Sylvie asked. "Yes, a little. But can I shower first?" Caleb asked. «Yes of course. It's going to take a while before everything's ready anyway." Stella said. Caleb went upstairs to his room. "So, what did you guys do, while we were gone?" Kelly asked. "Nothing special." Sylvie said. "Did you guys clean my Aquarium?" Caleb called from upstairs. "Yes why? Something's wrong." Matt asked. "No, everything is ok. Thank you. And what about feeding?" Caleb asked. "I already fed them." Matt said. 'Thanks Uncle Matt. You're the best." Caleb said, stepping into the shower. "I'll remember that and you heard that." Matt laughed and went into the kitchen with the others. "What do you guys think of a family vacation?" Kelly suggested. 'Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea. Especially after all the stress Caleb has had." Sylvie said. "Do you have a specific destination in mind?" Stella asked. "No, but I thought we could go to the travel agency after the shift and get some advice," Kelly said. 'Maybe Caleb has an idea too? I mean, he's been around a lot." Matt said. "What do I have an idea for?" Caleb asked, coming into the kitchen. "We thought it might be good for all of us to clear our heads and just enjoy the time as a family." Kelly said. "Wait, are you saying we're going on vacation or flying?" Caleb asked. "Yeah, and we thought you might have a destination since you've been around a lot." Matt said. "Okay, but first an important question." Caleb said. "Yes." Kelly said. "How much have you budgeted for it? I mean for flight, hotel and stuff?" Caleb asked. "We will see it then. We would go to the travel agency after shift and get advice." Kelly said. "Okay, but can I still suggest something?" Caleb asked. "Sure." Stella said. "Thailand." Caleb said. "Okay, we'll see what the person at the travel agent thinks about that." Kelly said. "Okay, that's settled then. Will you get the little ones so we can eat?" Sylvie said. Caleb went into the living room and got the little ones. Everyone sat down at the kitchen table and ate dinner together. After dinner Caleb went to bed because he had a bit of a headache again.
