The other two stood in the walkway leading up to the door of the particle accelerator. Caitlin stood in front, staring at the door while Barry stood back knowing this was hard for her but was there nonetheless.
**Caitlin's Flashback**
Caitlin came running down the hall toward the particle accelerator, turning in to see Cisco by the closed door.
"Where's Ronnie? Cisco, where is he?" Caitlin asked
"He's still inside." Cisco replied
"What? Open the door?" Caitlin argued
"I can't, we're on lockdown mode." Cisco said
"Cisco, we have to get him out of there or he'll die." Caitlin explained
"Cisco, can you hear me?" Ronnie voice echoed out of the walkie
"Ronnie, it's me." Caitlin said
"Caitlin...Is Cisco and Adaline there?" He asked
"It's just Caitlin and I, I'm here Ronnie, I'm listening." Cisco replied
"I adjusted the magnets to redirect the beam to try and vent the system so the blast will go up and not out." Ronnie explained
"I'll need to reset the particle perimeters to compensate." Cisco said giving Caitlin the radio
He ran over to the screens and began to recalibrate.
"Cisco's doing it. There has to be another way out of there, you have to find it." Caitlin pleaded
"Cait, the chain reaction, I can't reverse it. The doors need to stay shut to protect you. Are you still there?" Ronnie asked
"I'm here." Caitlin said weakly
"Caitlin, whatever happens-" Ronnie said before it cut out
"Ronnie." Caitlin called out
The building shook as Caitlin leaned against the particle accelerator door.
"RONNIE!" Caitlin yelled
**Flashback over**
The two stood there staring at the accelerator, both with saddened looks on their faces.
"He saved so many lives that day, and no one will ever know what he did." Caitlin said
Barry walked toward her.
"I do." Barry said
Caitlin took her eyes off the door looking at Barry.
"He was a hero." Barry added
Caitlin's face crumbled, trying not to let tears fall.
"I didn't want him to be a hero. I wanted him to be my husband." Caitlin expressed
Barry brought her in for a hug, letting her release her pent-up emotions when the intercom rang.
"Caitlin, Barry? You guys down there, we need you up here." Cisco said
The two looked at each other before heading back toward the Cortex.
They walked in seeing things on the screens,
"It's a 3-D molecular model of the gas we retrieved from your lungs." Cisco called out
"We have identified the toxin." Wells said pressing some buttons
"Hydrogen cyanide?" Barry asked
"What's interesting is what's mixed in with cyanide-- a sedative." Wells said
