The three of them were figuring out the computeristics of the software as Cisco walked into the room with a wall of cardboard boxes.

"We're all set." Cisco said

Barry stared at the cardboard box wall, confused.

"A little padding, just in case." Cisco replied

"Yeah." Barry said

Cisco walked back out of the room standing next to Adaline who was sitting beside Wells trying away on the screen. Barry walked onto the futuristic looking treadmill, looking around.

"You're sure about this Cisco?" Barry asked

"Most home treadmills have a maximum speed of about twelve miles per hour. This one has been Cisco'ed, with a little Dellie magic. Trust me, it can handle your speed." Cisco said into the mic

"Okay." Barry replied looking skeptical

Barry began to walk that turned into a jog which morphed into a run before he went superspeed, he became a blue before their very eyes.

"Heart rate, blood pressure, nerve conduction are all normal." Caitlin said

"For Barry." Wells said

"Brainwave function within standard limits." Caitlin replied

"I told you the treadmill could take it." Cisco said excited

"Oh my god, I'm so stupid." Adaline whispered

"What?" Cisco asked

"Look at his glucose levels." Adaline and Wells said

"Oh my god, of course. It's so obvious." Caitlin said

"Barry! We think we know why you keep-"

Wells was interrupted by Barry's body flying back into the cardboard wall, throwing packing peanuts everywhere.

"Oh my god, Barry!" Adaline yelled jumping up

"Passing out." Wells continued

Adaline raced into the room seeing a passed out Barry lying on the crushed boxes.

"Shit." Adaline whispered

The door opened behind her revealing Cisco.

"Is there any chance you could use your powers back to the Cortex?" He asked

"I can try, I haven't had very much control since the kickstart." She said

After a lot of concentration, I got Barry into the Cortex where they hooked him up to an IV to get him back up and going. After an hour or so and forty IV bags later, Barry began to stir awake. Cisco and Caitlin went and helped sit up.

"I passed out again?" Barry asked

"Total metabolic failure brought on by an acute hypoglycemia." Caitlin replied

"I'm not eating enough. So an IV bag and I'm good to go." Barry said

Cisco laughed, pulling over to the IV holder showing the bags.

"Try forty. Guess you were thirsty." Wells yelled out

I was leaning against the doorway of my office staring out at them.

"We are going to need to fashion you a new diet based on your metabolic changes." Caitlin said

"I've done a few calculations, you need to consume an amount equal to roughly 850 tacos unless we're talking cheese and guac, which is a whole other set of equations." Cisco said

"For Mexican, I recommend Tito's on Bruckner Ave?" Joe said

I looked up seeing Joe standing in the entrance of the cortex looking at all of us.

"Best burrito in the city." Joe said

"Joe." I called out

He looked at me and pointed his finger. I immediately closed my mouth and looked to my feet avoiding his wrath knowing he wasn't happy, it was written in his face.

"Detective West. What brings you to S.T.A.R. Labs?" Wells asked

"When I couldn't find you at your lab, I started doing a little research. Turns out there's been reports of a red streak around the city, stopping muggers, rescuing people from burning buildings." Joe explained

"You didn't tell him we were working together?" Wells asked

Barry shook his head before him and Joe began to argue. I blanked out most of their fight, before snapping out of it.

"I'm not your kid, Joe." Barry yelled

"Barry." I snapped

"And you're not my father. My father is sitting in Iron Heights, wrongfully convicted. You were wrong about him, and you are wrong about this. Now I may not be able to help him, but if I can save someone from a burning building or stop some armed thieves, I'm gonna do it and you can't stop me. So don't try." Barry bursted

Joe looked at all of us before his eyes panned back to Barry.

"You think you're so smart, all of you, but you don't know what you don't know and I hope you are clever enough to figure it out before somebody gets killed." Joe said before walking out

"Joe!" I yelled going after him

I raced down the hall finally catching up with him.

"Joe, I am so-" I started

"You knew about this, and you let him continue? After everything, all the stuff you told me about caring for him, you let him do this?" Joe asked

"Joe, I understand you are upset. What was I supposed to do? He was gonna do this with or without help. I couldn't let him do it on his own." I said

"No but you know how this works, and you didn't think of telling me? Why didn't you come to me?" Joe said

"Of course, I wanted to tell you but it wasn't my place." I said

"But if he dies, it's on-" joe said

"It's on me." I whispered looking at him

My eyes started to burn knowing tears were coming.

"Wait, no. Adaline. I didn't-" Joe said

"No I get it, Joe." my voice cracking before I walked away

I quickly walked back into the cortex avoiding eye contact, I walked straight into my office shutting the double doors. I walked to my chair grabbing my backpack before turning the lights off. I closed my eyes, focusing before I walked into the dark corner, before walking out of the dark corner in my living room.
